MemberAmbiguous gender? It is well known and revealed that the character, Sue Sakamoto is female... or is this the "tag what you see" rule because possible genderbending and not shoowing genetals senario?

MemberNice drawing skills indeed.

MemberIs that really the way we should be going, though? You'd think that the path involving the least amount of mental gymnastics and leaps of logic would be the way to go.
In this case, Sue is an established character known to be female and the picture contains nothing specifically contrary to this (lack of genitals doesn't count, plenty of cartoon animals have established genders without visible genitals, e.g. Bugs Bunny), so unless you're just being pedantic and argumentative there really is no reason to assume she isn't female here.
CamKitty
MemberAssumptions lead to bad tagging though. They allowed character names from source to quell some butthurt about the whole thing, but tagging is specifically everything that can be taken from the picture with no outside info to make tagging as objective as possible. It may seen strange but it makes the site function a lot better
Rubbit
MemberExcept making assumptions is exactly what you're doing.

Memberno visible evidence of character's gender -> ambiguous gender tag
CamKitty
MemberIt's not assumptions, it's choosing the neutral option when no evidence IN PICTURE is given
BlueJackal
MemberDoesn't that mean that every single well-known character on here should be tagged 'ambiguous gender' if they happen to be wearing clothes?
eeveefan
Memberi wish i had drawing skills like that... sigh i guess i need to keep practicing.. :s
user 22273
Memberif there is nothing that indicates what their gender is, then yes. but things like masculine or feminine body shape, breasts and bulge in pants can be used as evidence. in this image there is none.
eeveefan
Memberbut if we know sue is female should it matter? the character is portrayed as female. she doesnt need to be sexualized in order to give a gender. that would just be considered silly. >.>
user 22273
Member1. not everyone knows sue's gender. its not common knowledge.
2. the site rules say tag what you see, not what you know. we cannot see the gender of the character in this image so we dont tag it then. only people who have external knowledge about this character knows that the character in this image is female, and external information is not allowed in gender tagging.
