Are we talking about the original costume she wore in the game or some pictures on the internet. Because in the game, the loincloth she had was fully functioning. No complain here and the function of a loincloth never had the protection against rape or sex, but worked like a early underwear. An underwear nowadays doesn't protect you from rape or sex as well. And saying that this is the only reason to say "Yep, she has a loincloth, let's make porn from it" is dumb. No, it was common to "sneak a peak" under her skirt when she was trapped in the crystal when you first find her as you could twist the camera around and look up to find that her loincloth hung in the front and the back, but didn't actually cover anything inbetween her legs.

I just did a casual search and even in the scene where you play as her, you can see her loincloth lift up and expose her uncovered groin.

My statement was that it wasn't used like a true loincloth to keep her bits covered.
