  • As much as get the idea of Amons speech, he is still a horny 19 year old riding the hormone train while Kyra is a washed out adult going from fuck buddy to fuck buddy filing a void in her life.

Looking to deep into the plot of a porn comic? Sure, but since the writer goes this far it's hard to ignore obvious leeps in logic.

And yet, Amon can still be completely correct. In this case, is, since we've also seen things from Kyra's internal perspective.

“He’s just a horny young adult and she’s a washed-up sex addict, not to mention this is porn, so obviously the facts aren’t real and they’re taking liberties to add plot.”

Or you’re entirely incorrect on that matter. Writing a story is still one of the best ways to share your praxis and theories with a wider audience. It’s a medium that can afford to have the porn mixed in, since it’s directly an element of the story, and the primary plot point uses it to help explain itself.

I’ve mentioned in another comment elsewhere that Atrolux is not only our storyteller, but a master of the trade at that. They’re well-versed in how to create a compelling narrative, and they know how to use said narrative to make a point.

I cannot be certain, but they seem to be some sort of academian or other researcher of the topic. After all, it’s one thing to draw porn of incestuous sexual relationships; but creating a story surrounding the social stigmas of incest can help bring positive feedback to a situation that’s otherwise discussed negatively.

Realistically, if two individuals want to be together - and understand everything that that entails, and still want to be together - who are you to tell them no?

Amon’s case is pretty unique because he and Kyra were basically strangers when the comic began. Most of the non-biological issues of incest arise from the effects it has on family dynamics and the power structures within, which Kyra has had absolutely no part of until now, when Amon is already an adult. The fact that Kyra is his bio mom doesn’t have much of an affect on their relationship because her role as a parent is limited to “I did the fucking that made you”.

Amon having a relationship with Monique would actually be far more problematic and damaging because she’s the one who raised him and made decisions for him. That’s where the real potential for unhealthy dependency and/or abuse lies. I honestly don’t blame her at all for her fears because if her relationship with Amon had gone down that road they absolutely could have come true. Her only issue is that those fears are being projected onto a situation that isn’t quite the same, all compounded with her own shame at being into it. At this point in the story I think Amon will be fine even if they do end up boning down but again, this is NOT how most cases of irl incest go.

How’s that for examining the plot of a porn comic?

Edit: Props to Carver on the writing, the lack of a judgmental lens on Monique is very important. I’ve seen far too many braindead “just don’t have kids” takes that fail to recognize the reality of why these relationships are as controversial as they are. Consent is all fine and dandy, but it is by no means infallible. It cannot protect you from consequence and regret.

I agree so much with this, especially the last part. Also, I would add that, in my own personal experience, I've seen better themes in some porn, even very simple porn (not regular real life porn, pure animation or written fiction, just to be clear), done better in them, then in a lot of media I've seen. I don't even mean it as a dig on chaste media, just that some porn stories and fictions have done certain topics, like gender roles and how they can be stifling for a person, how relationships can fall apart from lack of forward drive from one side over the other, and how just because you've had a tragic end of one phase of your life, and lost people you cared about in more ways than one, doesn't mean that the good you did and the people you've inspired and care about NOW don't matter, then in chaste media that has tried to do similar topics. Admittedly, I haven't done a one to one comparison, but hopefully people get my point.

I sometimes wonder if some of it is because pure fantasy porn is so "niche" it doesn't have the media watchdog and executive pressures regular media does, so if the writers want to branch out, even if just to add a little "spice" to the story, and it isn't a major plot point, they can throw it in and give their best shot without fear. If so, it probably would also apply to other niche media as well.

When Kyra smiles she looks like a goddess.

She does. It's amazing how beautiful she is. She isn't just hot, she's genuinely beautiful, like, poetry beautiful when she looks like that.

That's the sort of look where I'd want to just put my arm around her and snuggle close...and now I want to see Amon do that. Or Monique...or them all side-snuggling together.

yeah, i can't lie. a few pages ago when he hit his mom with "Sorry who I love is something you have to deal with" it was giving extreme naivety and a little petulance. Like Monique has no over-reacted to anything. If this was real life, everything she's done would be a severe under-reaction.

  • A good mom sits down and has the difficult and awkward conversations because she knows it's important to do so.

A great mom lets their kid lead those conversations.

Absolutely agree with this. Kyra and Amon have a very unique relationship and Monique engaging in that kind of relationship with him could absolutely fuck up everything for them. Her fears are absolutely valid. I also think getting drunk to talk about this isn’t a good idea since they clearly want this relationship on some level and the alcohol will affect their decision making. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.

Amon this page: * Downs entire glass of wine, refills five seconds later *

Logging in for the first time in a long time to say… I think that’s kinda the point? Sure he’s still figuring everything the fuck out, but he’s starting to learn how to articulate why he feels good about this relationship deeper than just the ooga booga brain feel funny hehe sexy time.

MONIQUE (GOD I’M AN IDIOT), on the other hand, clearly has some traumas she hasn’t really processed yet…and now she’s gonna have to in order to continue to have a relationship with her son. And you can tell how well she’s taken it.

There have been mistakes made in this comic. I pretend the baseball chapter is noncanon. There is definitely suspension of disbelief here. But the fact that the author is trying to tell an actually good story about taboos and trauma and what it means to love… while also being fucking porn… respect.

To me it gives that Anti Dev comic that tries to realistically depict incest as something that’s deeply troubling to the ones who partake in it, but while also indulging in the fetish. It’s not impossible but the horny fetish content and the self-serious content are kind of at a conflict. This isn’t quite as bad as the Anti Dev comic which is actually a little depressing at the end.

Monique’s reaction to finding out her ex is banging their 19 year old son has already broken the disbelief, at least, in my opinion. There is no reality, even in one where I believe love should be free, where someone who is almost 40 is having sex with their 18-20 year old offspring isn’t really disturbing. Growing up without her in his life doesn’t make it any less creepier.

Kyra comes off really gross trying to apply reality to a fetish comic, and I have felt terrible for Monique for a few chapters now. Like how traumatizing it is to learn your ex if fucking the baby you made together.

I remember rolling my eyes that one chapter Amon’s friend was just like “hehe it doesn’t bother me at all you fuck your mom and want to fuck your other mom, people just love who they love : 3 how beautiful” as if it’s exactly the same logic that applies to gays and lesbians. Kind of just feels like a fetish validation moment that doesn’t apply outside a porn comic.

This isn’t to say this comic is bad at all, afterall I read every chapter. I just think the story has to follow porn logic to make sense.

But the Black-Kitten Days of The Week comic is definitely the one to be about trauma and what it means to be in love, if that’s what you’re looking for. Or that novel Addiction, I can’t remember by who. Again, no disrespect to Atrolux because the art and characters, I have no complaints, and they are going above and beyond what any furry comic artists and writers have to. This is a really good comic.

I only mean to disagree with the opinion that the story is effectively communicating real world issues and addressing them with the proper nuance.

(I would like to acknowledge that I may very well just be biased because I don’t really believe and parent and child can engage together without the parent holding an inappropriate amount of control over the child. Both of my examples follow brother and sister relationships which I believe are very different from a parent and child. Much more solidarity, equal life experience, more in common, etc. It’s hard for me to find horny adults fucking with an 18-20 year old that they have 20 years of life on cutesy or endearing if I try to think about it realistically)

  • Kinda feels like Amon is taking an unearned high road here, considering he was jacking off to Monique in the shower. That's pretty Horny.
