MemberI think it's more the fact that she wasn't so much being a slut as being whored out. Kind of a fucked up situation. Pretty sure she was only barely consenting.
Edit
Aaaaand I just realized I told the author how their characters feel. That's still my takeaway. I don't see someone who spent high school being a slut, she sounds more like she was abused and it was played off as being expected since she was part of the cheer squad.

MemberI see where you're coming from. i see where Inquisitor smiles is coming from. personally i'd say... let everyone figure out their life. don't be "that" guy.
be it with a woman, a man, or anybody in-between, judging somebody upon hearsay or bedroom stories makes you a dick. no matter the age, gender, preference or color of their undies.
Monique didn't enjoy that lifestyle, well, lessons learnt for her. Kyra enjoys this lifestyle, well, good for her.
hope life stays good for our favorite sneks, and that some advices on life keep going along the way ^^

What a great way to ask for dissenting opinions! Surely there's no way that this *couldn't* lead to a productive discussion.
ZeZeWasTaken
MemberWow, some of these commentsβ¦ just one page after I said judgment shouldnβt be passed on Monique too. Have some empathy, people.
That aside, Iβm glad we get to see what Monique meant by βgetting her shit togetherβ a couple pages back. Itβs much more understandable why she fears for Amon knowing that her own teenage sex experiences were tainted by potentially abusive systems and people. Again, she may have consented but that canβt be used as a catch all βoh so it was ok thenβ shield. Itβs clearly affected her relationships with other people, probably including Kyra. Amonβs very existence is likely tied to these experiences, so itβs easy to see why she would be overprotective and adamant that he not suffer in the same way. Her views on Kyraβs promiscuity are also somewhat explained. Until we know the full story I can only speculate, of course.
Love these characters and love this story. Keep it up!

Memberhave you ever seen a borba comic ? π€π

MemberThe fact that she says it in the tone that the writing seems to imply makes it WORSE for me! She looks embarrassed rather than upset or disgusted, and the self-deprecating feelings. Damn, this explains a lot about Monique's issues. I feel so bad for her, I cannot even begin to comprehend what she must have felt and still feels...
forestgreenpower
MemberA multiple species gangbang that I do NOT find sexy. Never thought I'd see it, but here it is. Poor Monique. Stories like hers, fictional as this particular one is real ones exist, are part of WHY I HATE abusive and exploitative stuff like what was done to her. It makes normal people be overprotective and even a bit stifling towards their children, or just their relationships and lives afterwards in general. One extreme, feeds into the other. All that variety of damage and it all stems from people who look down on others and only care about themselves or "their" group or side, and use others however they want. Vile.
Great work by all involved, magnificent job Atrolux!! I genuinely was not expecting another page right now, I just was checking for the sake of it.
The discussions are...about what I expected. Mostly good, with some bad peppered in. Still, always nice to see the good, it keeps away my misanthropy!

Memberok, now we're starting to see a greater picture, she has had SEX, but NEVER made LOVE, not even once... damn. well Amon needs to take her by the paw and SHOW her the difference, i think that would change her tune.
GollossalKitty
MemberMakes you glad it's just a character. The sad is just that this is way too realistic to be experienced exclusive to this character. Cheerleading and in general traditional femininity in school has so much trauma around it that it's insane. I'm so glad that we have such a great writer for these comics.
GollossalKitty
MemberLmao SHOW her the difference. Amazing idea. Amon should have a threesome with his moms to SHOW Monique what good sex is like. Makes you really think about how incest is a tool to heal broken families. Sorry if my irony went a little overboard but I think it's an interesting philosophical concept.

Memberim seeing people say this is dark, yet so far i just see a single mom complain about how she had unfulfilling sex as a teenager.
i don't think this is dark or im missing something
Noveltwin
MemberI think it's just our societal conditioning.
Gangbangs in porn = hawt
Gangbangs in "reality" = sad time
wiseguy9894
MemberIt's more that line "I had sex done to me". And that line how if you're on the team, you have "access". Really seems like she only ever barely consented to it all, and only did so because she was pressured to. At least thats my takeaway. You look at it like that, it's suddenly a whole lot darker than just a single mom who had a lot of sex.

Memberi usually consider stuff dark if it involves abuse or murder or unhappy endings and other stuff. like if the main characters fails to save a loved one from suicide due to bullying and the story ends with them griefing ontop of the corpse telling loved one to "wake up". now thats dark!
polarlybbacon
MemberYou know it's a good comic when despite seeing great sexy shots you're absolutely not horny.

MemberWas I wrong though? Did not a single person get a little angry? If you actually wanted to have a productive discussion you would have brought up something relevant to the topic. Instead you chose to mock me.
[/quote]
It's more the pity party aspect of it.
"I know everyone's gonna totally hate me for X but"
But, you don't really want to have a discussion though, do you? You just want to feel justified in feeling oppressed. So you say stuff like that in the hopes of getting other people "triggered" so you can justify your pity party and say "Oh the world is so mean to me just because I had an opinion."
Seriously how old are you? If you're going to behave like a minor maybe this isn't the site for you.
Atrolux
Memberdude this is not the place to discuss the morals of having sex with more than 1 person
Rave-Shark
MemberMy guy you act like a troll and got bait in your name, I'm not surprised people don't wanna waste their time debating you.
Stop with the "haha you mad tho'?" and people might try.
forestgreenpower
MemberBecause, and this is just my best figuring, that your word choice and stance don't take into account that promiscuity, by it's basic definition from Wikipedia "is the practice of engaging in sexual activity frequently with different partners or being indiscriminate in the choice of sexual partners." which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, and you gave no evidence or supporting arguments for what you meant exactly, or why it HAS to be wrong. That article itself goes into how it has a bad connotation among religious people (who are not a very liked group in the US, at least in some parts, and I suspect at least some other countries, at least when they get too preachy), but is also a highly subjective concept. Different cultures and groups, and even individuals, have different ideas of what is promiscuous and what isn't. Add in that you basically waved the "I know I'm gonna piss people off" thing like a flag, and it makes people read what you said and see you as just a purist or someone who thinks "It's bad to have sex casually because nyah, I don't care if anyone disagrees with me and I'm just right and you all are wrong for being different then me".
Nobody likes someone who tries to draw lines in the sand without good reason, and especially if they give off a sense of not caring about disagreement or what others feel. It comes across as willifully ignorant.
Also, what Rave-Shark said, if you aren't earnest, or if people doubt that you actually meant what you said, then you look like one of those trolls who just throws out some random opinion about a serious topic wherever you can to get shallow attention and hate to make yourself feel special, and people like that are absolute trash.
Either way, you don't present well, and if you mean either of the above things genuinely for what they are, well, I explained what that would mean already.
Staying neutral on what, if any of this is true, but hope that answers your question.

MemberYou bring up a fair point about my delivery, and I will work on it in future for topics I am serious about.
It seems like you're fixating specifically on promiscuity as it's presented by Wikipedia and I would invite you to think simply of the basic definition of engaging in many short term relationships. I now defer back to my original claim that maintaining a longer term relationship with a smaller number (I am not advocating for monogamy) of trusted partners. One piece of supporting evidence for this claim is the large number of stories like this that come from the peer-pressure and hormone fueled tragedy that is high school, as shown in this well written story.
That is the basic point I was trying to make, do with it what you will.
GollossalKitty
MemberYeah. The Creator just knows better because misogyny is about femininity and womanhood not just womanhood. It's real that sex is seen as worse for cis women than... whatever the f Kyra is. Whether its stupid or not to act like this treatment is normal is up for grabs. Whether or not it's ok to treat characters like they are real and like it has a real affect on a person's character whether they care about the character like it's a human or not is for lilbill but this is e621 so I dunno. People don't know how to read a situation sometimes. I'm practicing writing lol, go tell my english teacher I am writing literature in the comments of e621 they will be very happy cuz i am awesome yes :)

Membertheyβre both women so not really double standards (unless you wanna make a special category for dick-sogyny) but itβs still a misogynistic thing to say regardless
