I can always use your help and support as it's thanks to the generosity of patrons that helps gives me time each day to ponder these stories instead of stocking some shelves.

It would mean the world to me if you're interested in joining! At $5 you can check out the current two comics I'm working on, and the mountain of ideas I sketch out too!

  • Ah okay, so he didn't have sex with her immediately because of the guilt of buying what amounts to a sex slave in the heat of the moment.
The implications of this world are kinda dark, but that's to be expected from Shane's comics.

Accurate to real life to a certain extent.

I dunno man, I never bought a sex slave nor do I know anyone who's done it

One, you aren't in the part of the world this happens in, but it does happen. The interactions are nowhere near as sweet and romantic as in the comic.
Two, people give themselves over to sexual slavery here in the US and the western world regularly, and again, it rarely ends well for the 'slave.'
Finally, I don't believe the protagonist ever saw or considered her as chattel, merely his own sense of guilt wanting something so badly he'd go to this
    length to have it.

    Post-nut-clarity without the nut.

  • Hell yeah, my prior prediction was on point.

I have unlocked Shane's mind, by rereading his stuff an unhealthy amount

  • While watching a Metal Gear Rising stream, there was a part where Blade Wolf states "I was not installed with these guidelines" and once I heard that line, I instantly though of Sierra's line in this comic panel. Did you happen to get inspiration from MGR Shane?

I've always been at a distance to the metal gear series. Spy and political espionage themes have not really ever been my cup of tea. Granted, I have a great respect for figures like Kojima and admire him alongside his team of writers for their uncompromising artistic merit. At this point I feel like their work is more like trying to see what happens if real life settings had anime-eque visions which...is quite fun! This is all to say I have not played Rising or any other metal gear game in the series outside seeing quotes here and there. I do recall the one quote however of AI describing how reality and human's perceptions of it can be warped constantly by "information." which was fascinating! Not sure which one that was from.

What inspired this story and this scene in particular for me is the concept of being objectified. The idea of not just being seen as a sexual object, but internalizing that specific aspect as the main or best quality that you have. Sierra saying she wasn't equipped to be a friend was my way of hopefully expressing how we can become programmed, and that it can be both scary and hurtful overcoming those boundaries, especially when they've defined us from the start.

People like yourself who can understand let alone predict aspects of my stories or where they might lead is what I consider a great compliment. If I'm not making something for the sake that it hasn't been made or a the very least is little thought on, then I'm always aiming at emotions and symbolic gestures. I know I make it rather esoteric at times or hide it behind mundane moments or humor, blending symbolism and literal things chaotically, but at the end of the day I'm always hopeful these characters and ideas can mean something positive or bring pause to consider a different way of expression/thinking. If not, hopefully they can entertain at the very least.

That AI Quote is from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Not my favorite of the series, but it sure was an experience.

I've read stories of people going to a strip clubs and paying strippers to not even have sex with them, only thing the patronage asks for is someone to talk to. Which happens more often than you think. That was what my comment was implying.

Well, let's just say that you being one of the holy trinity of my recurring searches on this site, is proof enough of that I am thourougly invested and entertained by most everything you make. From high concept single images with a corresponding description or full comics.
