News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

Description

and she is not even ashamed! [sketch]

Some context:

It's Saphira form 'Inheritance Cycle', and I did indeed read it when teenager, and indeed I remember that 'I liked Saphria most of all characters in that book'. So... yeah this sketch isn't that far from the truth I guess?
Also, honestly this was my frist contact with "NSFW furries stuff": [ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/377266/ ][NSFW]

I'm working thought some 'creative block' and/or 'mild burnout'. I have one more idea for another thing i'd like to do as sketch, and then i'll get back to two half-way-done images I have on the drawing table. February will be "without proper image from me" most likely.

Ukrainian war:
Two years and it's still a thing 🙁

good luck - and best wishes to Ukrainians!

In my case it was Cynder from the Legend of Spyro.
But I really need to read those books someday too.

Same here, on both counts. She's easily my favourite character in the book series.

Let's hope the Disney show portrays her well.

A live action Disney+ show was announced a while ago with Paolini (the books' author) as executive producer

yeah - that was main thing i learned from comments under this image.

I remember that I liked the books when I was a kid, but movie I remember as "they cut out so much from source material, that they've written themselves into a corner, and even if they wanted to carry on [making 2nd movie], they basically couldn't, because too much stuff was missing from the story."
mind you: it's been a while, I might be misremembering things.

You're pretty much spot on. The movie was so not good that even Paolini himself pretends it doesn't exist

Great, Disney can now ruin another series I loved.

No more than the movie already did lol

Anyways, the Percy Jackson show is apparently pretty good so there's hope. Especially since, as I said, Christopher Paolini is in charge.

Did she? I remember reading the first book, and her personality came out of nowhere/was forced. She just... suddenly had a personality and memories, and I wasn't a fan. I'd have preferred her to grow up properly and get her personality that way, with him raising her naturally over years instead of bam: she's all grown up with past memories! I couldn't finish the book when I realized the direction it was going.

Funnily enough, Christopher Paolini said this is exactly what he would do differently if he wrote Eragon now. You're not the only one wishing for more baby Saphira xD

It's not really that bad though, she experiences a lot of growth throughout the series, and there are plenty of great moments between her and Eragon.

I'm just saying there's a reason why most people consider her their favourite character. You should really come back to the books and give them a shot. The series might start out rough, but it only gets better with each book.
(Anyways, it's still way better than what the movie did, where Saphira literally gets struck by lightning and magically transforms into an adult)

  • Maybe it's TMI but she's right.

Blame her for making me go into the rabbit hole.

I happened to have played the DS games of Legends of Spyro around the same era as the Eragon movie, two dragonnesses to get me into that.

  • Dragon/Elizabeth and Sapphira were some of the ones to help me realize I liked dragons in a whole different way.

I can't believe they missed out the scene at the wake!
