Description
Tom: While a LOT of people didn't like this or were extremely confused about this as it was happening, I still put a lot of work and several sleepless nights into this whole thing. So I put it all together and am putting it up here for posterity - and to remind me never, never try to do something like this again! Because all it causes is a divide among the fans and people getting angry! D: Specifically at me.
However, those of you who called it all along, even during the parts were it seemed true, congrats!

Blockedusually with toms joke comics they blend in well with the story but you can always tell whats up...this blended in well...TOO WELL! up until the final moment he exposes that it was a complete troll.
And the worst part is that it was long and he wasted two comic updates on this. We all waited until that second update and when we got it, we all went YAY CANON! but no, we didn't get a day for april fooks...we got TWO WEEKS OF APRIL FOOLS ON OUR ASSES! FUUUUUUUCK! DAMMIT!
TOM YOU DICK!
I KILL U!

Memberi totally called it on day one. he mentions laura's soul getting lost when they had already established that the illusion wasn't really laura's soul. he even hinted that it wasn't laura's soul BEFORE they proved it.

Blockedquiet u. I am VERY upset about this. Tom has never played a trick on us this misleading. usually his lil blue messages above the pics never lie, now I have to suspect when his lil messages say "sorry been to busy to post an update" all I can think about is him lying to me and just being a lazy ass. He did it to us for an april fools joke, who knows how many times he's done it before? Everything he says is now a lie, the updates were a lie, and the cake was a lie!
Blackphantom770
BlockedTechnically it was an illusion that became inhabited by Laura's soul. Laura lied towards the end after she found out that her presence as a illusion would cost Keith his life. So she lied to him in order to convince him to let her go. Even in death, Laura loved Keith enough to want him to keep living. Re-read those pages, its true. You can tell that it's her when her eyes change and she slaps Keith after what he said.

MemberIt was far too jarring and sudden a nonsensical plot twist to not have been an April Fools.
And personally, I don't think the illusion was Laura's soul at all, the spell is supposed to turn into whatever you want the most, and what Keith wanted was Laura, but since he already knew it was an illusion, the spell started making the illusion act as if she was the real one. Again, it makes no sense that her soul suddenly just randomly inhabited the illusion, if it would happen it would have happened to many people casting this spell in the past and they would have known by now that can happen.

MemberThe context to this situation was that Tom intended for the twist to be canon... and then he prematurely caved in to the negative portion of the reaction, backpedaled massively, and turned it into, allegedly, the last April Fool's gag mini-series he'll ever create.
Risks can truly bring out an author's true colors. Sometimes, that may not be for the best.

MemberI have heard that, and honestly, that is very unlikely. A giant near-nonsensical twist was pulled on April 1 that pretty much directly goes against one of the core points of the story (Namely, that people die and you have to accept it, everyone so far that tried to circumvent that learned the hard way not to), there is no way directly after another example of this lesson, Tom was seriously considering bringing a character actually back from the dead and even have him joke about it.
Besides, if Tom caved into fan complaints that easily Laura would also be back and Nora wouldn't be asleep for centuries either.

Memberyou're forgetting about this page: http://twokinds.keenspot.com/archive.php?p=735
you gotta think. what kieth wanted above all else wasn't necessarily for laura to be back, but to get closure. kieth said this when natani cast the spell, and the spell would have known that. for the spell to give him closure, it had to convince him that it was real. the very nature of the spell set up a situation where kieth would be FORCED to go through all that emotional stress in order to finally move on. she didn't lie at the very end, she just knew what she was doing. she gave kieth exactly what he wanted.

BlockedI disagree with that, but we both have our opinions and its up to Tom to confirm them or let us stew over it
Maybe it was a possessed illusion or maybe it was just an illusion, but in the end, neither of us will know for sure with concrete proof unless Tom says so.
But I respect your opinion though I don't agree with it, and will agree to disagree =D

MemberI didn't get that this is joke on the begining. :)

MemberThis may be the last ever April Fools artwork has done for Twokinds but will still remain as the BEST, in my humble opinion. I mean, come on, that little smirk of Alaric/Lynn towards Keith in the middle panels is looking SERIOUSLY seductive and whatever thought may have been running through Keith's mind at the moment, how could he consider saying "no" to this amorous smile? ;)
