News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

Behind every Blacklisted Tag there is a story of Discovery

Blacklisted (2)
Disable All Filters

  • I mean, when you come across a post that somehow manages to set off nearly your entire blacklist at once, it's difficult not to disable it out of sheer morbid curiosity.

not rly. You blacklist literally everything but "female" and suddenly ur entire feed is full of women so i think its fair if its blacklisted.

You would be shocked to find out that it's not that bad. The only thing that I have to deal with is new post not being tagged with woman/female and other tags that is based on that gender.

Edit: My bad, didn't read that correctly haha.

it's not practical, because woman on the background will hide your gay stuff, you should use "Female -male/male" instead

It might be smarter to blacklist "male/female" and "solo female" and maybe even "pussy", otherwise you will block a lot of male focused posts that just have a woman in the corner or something.

  • I wish ~- would work. Currently, that syntax is ignored when used.

Let's say I wanted to see posts either with males only, or if there are female characters, to include male/male somewhere in the post. I would be able to do that with:
    "~-female ~male/male male"

I have to check which tags are specifically blacklisted... though some of mine are for artists and individual posts so... they can't all go off at once.

Not necessarily, it makes sense a gay man wouldn't want to see female porn, but it's a very inefficient and clumsy way to go about it.
Using such a broad, blunt blacklist like 'female' excludes tons of male-focused posts which just have, like, a female background character or something.
Would be much better to blacklist more specific tags, or combinations of tags (you can do that, if you didn't know,) but it's your list I guess.

You just gotta move things around a 'lil bit, utilising the blacklist inverts things and ~- isn't necessary
Adding this line to your blacklist does exactly what you need:

Remove all post where female is present, UNLESS: there is m/m present OR (for example) it is rated safe OR etc..

    female -male/male -rating:s -[etc] -[etc]

(NOTE: all in one line of the blacklist)
(DOUBLE NOTE: 'male' is already implied by 'male/male' so it does not need to be referenced. appending -male to this line will show m/f posts without m/m present as well)

In my case, I blacklist "male -female -rating:s" which gets 99.9% of the job done, but I add a few -[tag]s to this line for any edge cases. Some of my other blacklist lines are stupid bonkers complicated, its like a little puzzle to do when I'm bored lol

Oh, that's super useful. Thank you
One small issue I see though is that the blacklist will always re-enable everytime you refresh/go to another page, which would make it difficult if I want multiple tabs that use very different search terms(including some that conflict with the initial blacklist). Besides that, this is a pretty cool way to search for things.

Yeah, just a quirk with the site. You can kinda get around it, 'Disable all' applies to all tabs, but mildly annoying it doesn't for individual blacklists, so look at the blacklist line count and if there's too much of one thing just -[tag] in your search. goofy ah ancient php momento

Not weird, you are just lacking a combination to make it work better, I'm straight so I blacklisted the combination "male -female -rating:safe" and it works wonders, blacklisting female as a whole makes it impossible for you to find those images where the man is the focus and looks hot as fuck.

Heck, checking my blacklist I realized it is "male -female -rating:safe -ambiguous_gender" because there are times when even tho the partner is not explicitly male or female you know that ass is meant to be female

I used to do it back when I was a lurker.

I had to make an account in order the see what I wanted, and figured I might as well make a blacklist while I'm at it.

dunno... maybe i'm a little crazy but i don't mind some weird messed up stuff now again. not like i'm getting off to it but art's interesting sometimes. it's why i (against my better judgment) haven't blacklisted e254e.

...maybe you have a point though

Don't worry about it, I do the exact same thing as a gay dude too. It's just the equivalent of a straight guy blacklisting the Male/male Tag.

You would be surprised on how unfazed we are towards unhinged stuff on this site, it's just art afterall, the more messed up the better.
