Conservatists? I'm going to guess you have a pretty liberal education, then.

As a Conservative, myself, I don't believe that the government should regulate tentacle-goo emisions, limit which holes tentacles can and can't use, or ban high capacity tentacles, or tentacles of exceeding a certain size because they believe that they're more destructive. Anyone who hasn't shown that they're unsafe should be able to go to their local hardware store and get a bucket full of tentacles, without a background check, or the government to tell them what sort of suction cups or ridges they can't have on their tentacles.
