Membertrans characters have lore tags and all characters are tagged based on (primary or secondary) sexual characteristics
for future reference: it's generally considered bad etiquette on here to complain about an incorrect tag (i dont think that was your intention). You can either fix it yourself or write a comment stating what needs to be changed. :3

MemberI appreciate the explanation, thanks for not lampooning me lol. But yeah, I'm aware of the lore tags, but I just thought that when it comes to the male or female tags, you tag the characters soley based on their sexual characteristics rather than the lore, with the lore tag being to show what their actual gender is.
But judging from what you said, it seems to fluctuate from post to post, which I have seen. Guess it depends what the uploader thinks. Seems someone already changed the male tag to female on this post though, so perhaps I was right, guess we'll see lol.
Anyway, thanks again for the explanation, and good day to you

MemberThere are definitely a few grey areas in the current tagging system. It's the reason i don't really agree with the "tag what you see" policy. There is often clear artistic intent that's overlooked, resulting in jumbled and inconsistent tagging, which can be very detrimental.
One example is female charr (which is a species that has no discernable breasts) getting tagged as andromorph when in reality, anyone directly searching for charr will know that females have no breasts.
Another case is that we have no system for tagging realistic bestiality which doesn't exclude all non-realistic anthro_on_feral art. It's certainly in the realm of artistic intent and interpretation, but as of now, people who may want or need to filter for that, cannot.
Sorry for ranting lol it's just a compromise that i don't like. I think this website needs to pull it together and decide whether we are an archive or a porn site.
Also hot pic sorry puphuffs and Tansy.

Memberalso wait what did Tansydraws remove his stuff from here? that's so sad to me personally but i respect his decision to do so.
Cooper06
MemberIt's fine, I don't mind lol. But yeah, I see what you mean about the inconsistent tagging issue. Hell, the only other piece of this character on the whole site has the andromorph tag while this one has the female tag, it's annoyingly inconsistent.
Also, when it comes to realistic beastiality, couldn't you just add the realistic tag to it? Feel like adding a whole tag for realistic beastiality content would be redundant as long as the realistic and beastiality tags exists

Janitorpost #4563897 doesn't have breasts, this one does
Cooper06
MemberNot having breasts doesn't mean you're automatically not a woman though, but I see what you mean

MemberThis character used to have more than 200 posts on here, but the owner recently had them taken down because they disliked that the TWYS policy was causing their transmasc character to be tagged as female. https://e621.net/takedowns/21319

MemberOnly just got around to checking comments, changed the female tag to andromorph since it felt pretty gross to have my friend, a man, being labeled as female ykno. At that point I'd rather just take the post down. Ick.
That said I am still learning the site and proper tagging and will be placing more ambiguous characters like Tansy in the andromorph tag in the future ๐ feedback is always appreciated, transmisogyny is not!

MemberDamn, is that where all the Tansy art went? I'm gonna miss his content on here, I can't fuckin' stand twxtter so that's a no-go. I don't like the TWYS rules either, and agree that they're outdated and at best only halfway functional (I frequently see gynomorphs in the andromorph tag for some reason...? on top of the constant discourse in the comments about it). It's why I'm intending to post on Cohost primarily. Y'know, in the timeline where I finish any of my sketches enough to justify posting them, anyway.
Puphuffs
Memberik Tansy also posts on bluesky! not as frequently as twxtter, unfortunately, i also share being stuck over there since that's where most of my client base is ack. BUT, if it helped i wanted to let you know that there was another place to see his work! this piece was actually half of a trade we did together and i'll be obsessed with the one he made me forever
i havent heard much about cohost tho- im certainly trying to find places that arent the bird site to shift over to
