    Exactly. The only change they made was rechambering it in .308 to fit NATO specifications. Other than that, the MG3 and the MG-42 are basically the same gun. Hell, the parts are even interchangeable between the two.

    I think there are some minor changes. As the rechambered MG42 was the MG1, but it had some issues. I looked on Forgotten Weapons! :D
