MemberThe story of this gun is basically the Germans realized they made the perfect GPMG(general purpose machine gun) during World War 2 with the MG-42, so they just rechambered it in .308 and the MG3 was born

MemberHey "if it isn't broken" and all that, right?
Some Furry
MemberExactly. The only change they made was rechambering it in .308 to fit NATO specifications. Other than that, the MG3 and the MG-42 are basically the same gun. Hell, the parts are even interchangeable between the two.

MemberI think there are some minor changes. As the rechambered MG42 was the MG1, but it had some issues. I looked on Forgotten Weapons! :D

MemberYeah that's a good fact check source. Either way, gun is perfection.
