About Pokemon Condoms 1/2

Similar to the artwork I posted on Twitter the other day, this is a series of sketches I've dug up from the past.
I've brushed up on some sketches of some of the considerations I had for what kind of condoms, if any, there are for Pokémon.

For cat-shaped Pokémon
The rubber at the base is thicker to prevent the spines of the penis from penetrating the rubber. This is unpopular with users because of reduced sensitivity and discomfort, but it is popular with partners because there is no pain from the spines. Some couples have made it a must for their partners to use it.
The sizes are finely divided, and the appropriate size must be selected to protect the spines.

For waterfowl-type Pokémon
The long, spiral-shaped penis must be extended with one hand and put on and taken off with the other hand, which requires skill and time. Pokémon with winged arms cannot attach the rubber by themselves.
It is difficult to obtain, probably because there is not much demand for it.

For reptilian Pokémon
While regular ones can be used instead, there are ones for reptile Pokémon that have two rubber in one vinyl, or two sets of one vinyl.
In addition to size differences, the shape of the penis varies considerably among individuals, so there are many different types. It is necessary to know the shape of the penis well before purchasing.
It is easy to mix them with those for Dragon-type Pokémon, but be careful because they are different in terms of durability.

  • Your daily reminder that ducks are in a evolutionary arms race to allow for (males) or prevent (females) rape.

  • Neat idea, to have different kinds of condoms for the different kinds of penises. I especially like the feline-spine-protector one.

That said, I can't imagine manufacturing the gajillion variants (and then different sizes!) that would be needed for a population of Pokemon would work out economically. For contraceptive purposes, I think a more likely approach would be the use of some kind of silphium-like plant/herb/seed/root. Given that all Pokemon lay eggs, and many can interbreed, there seems to be more commonality in the reproductive biology than male genital shape...

Another option would be to just produce diaphragms. You'd only need to make them in different sizes and have a waterfowl variant (again, evolutionary arms race to prevent rape).

Ah, that's a good point. Not only would a lot fewer variants be needed, the re-usability of diaphragms is ideally suited to low manufacturing volume.

The only downside is that diaphragms don't seem to have much currency in popular awareness. (I don't believe I've spotted one in mainstream media since that scene in Making Mr. Right.) Do women still use them these days? I recall hearing that they're a PITA to put in place.

  • I've heard of this trick where you apply a condom on someone with your mouth.
With Quaqua, that'd likely be like slurping spaghetti.

Are you really doing a market analysis on how to successfully implement male Pokemon condoms?
Okay, continue, no seriously, this is very interesting and funny. *slurp*
