This week's fun animal fact: Pangolins are the only mammals to have scales. Armadillos have bony plates rather than scales, and fish have scales made of enamel and dentine (like teeth). The only other group with keratin scales are reptiles. Also, Pangolins and Armadillos may look similar, but they are not closely related; one of the closest relatives of pangolins is actually the mongoose.

Bonus fact: Ranoidea platycephala, is a species of frog that is common in most Australian states and territories and is commonly referred to as the water-holding frog, In the rainy season, they can hold so much water that more than 50% of their body is liquid, then they bury themselves in the ground, shed their skin and turn that skin into a cocoon, in this state they can Live up to 2 years without eating or drinking.
