News: Feb 26, 2025 Show

Feb 26th:A new bill in Arizona is making its way through the Senate that would force sites like e621 to implement mandatory age verification for all users—or face potential lawsuits. This system would require third-party vendors to verify every user’s age through a government database. Not only is this a massive violation of privacy, but it also introduces serious risks, including identity theft through phishing schemes and other malicious methods. Worse still, we would have no control over ensuring that user data is permanently deleted after verification.

Since e621 operates out of Arizona, this law would almost certainly impact us if it passes. If you want to help ensure that we can continue serving you without being forced to collect personal information, we urge you to contact Arizona’s senators and ask them to vote NO on this bill.

Please help spread the word about this issue and encourage others to take action.
Further information on the bill itself can be found at the Free Speech Coalition: https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2112/

  • Dielle, please remember that is your brother who has to flirt with you as that NPC.

  • TBH that's not a bad way of handling it, just not a great response. It's not like the bandits are going to call off an attack because one of the targets can flirt really well. At best they might stop attacking that specific PC (which would probably break down once the PC joins the combat because bandits are attacking the rest of the party.)

Inigo's inexperience is the point of the comic, but he could have handled that a lot worse.

    Inigo the flirt did nothing.
    Dielle is disappointed.

Flirting in my opinion is social interaction. There is push and show, and understanding your partner. One skill check shouldn't ressult with an NPC at your feet, eyes like hearts. Don't be like Johny Bravo!

Yep, the bandit isn't gonna change who she is just because she likes Flora.

Which, if you did pivot the plot for the flirt roll, would actually be a good point of conflict. The bandit leader legitimately likes Flora, but try as Flora might the bandit leader never becomes someone SHE would like. Leading to Flora having to make a tough choice.

Regardless you definitely don't want to make players feel like their rolls don't matter. Dielle especially would be susceptible to this since she actually heard Inigo say "it's a story you all write together". And right now she's feeling like this might as well just be Inigo reading from a book.

Situations like this are why I'd like to throw in the occasional "meaningless" fight. A combat that has absolutely no bearing on the plot whatsoever but is scripted to happen anyway. That way there's times where the players can pull almost any shenanigan they want. And sometimes things happen in them that might not stick to the plot, but DO stick with the player's character.

  • I feel like something should have happened mechanical to reward the nat20 and not have her waste a turn
Something like the bandit saying "aren't you lovely? I'll save you for later" And then her not being attacked for like a turn or two.
Just because she's now into you doesn't mean she's gonna be nice

  • The enemy can be into you if you flirt with them... The DM just says they're into hard domination, roleplay and impact play, roll for initiative fuckboy.

  • To be honest it is never easy for a GM, especially a new one, to respond to flirting in character. Moreso considering this is her brother and all.

Well if we want to be mechanical, talking is a free action. It shouldn't end/use her turn at all. Depending on which game/ruleset we're using, you can talk during the enemy's turn and roll for flirt after each single action by each player/NPC/enemy.
