Another quick fluid test! For no particular reason, I felt like using Tahlia, so here she is getting a good glazing. You might be wondering why I keep using characters and making half-assed porn to test my fluid simulation out on instead of just doing it on a sphere or something, to which I would respond shut up.

Happy with the look! It's not perfectly realistic, but nothing I do is realistic, it's close enough that I'm satisfied. The fluid simulation itself is still a bit on the jittery side, and that's a tough one to fix... slow moving small amounts of fluid (yeah, this is technically a small amount of fluid relative to the domain size) are just a nightmare for fluid jitter. I might just have to accept the idea of leaving sims baking for a day or so to crank the resolution high enough to knock out the jitters. Ugh. Maybe it's time to consider a CPU upgrade...

Still, a big step forward I think!

    The only thing I wonder is how you are going to outdue yourself next animation, because you find ways to get better everytime. Many animators who have reached your status rest on their laurels and peak at one level but your dedication keeps pushing you forward. Plus it's nice that you share your progress with us in whatever way you see fit!

  • I could never get a fluid sim that good - if I crank the resolution, viscosity just makes the fluid randomly explode, and without viscosity it just looks too liquod.I wonder if FLIPFluids addon somehow avoids this issue and that's what's used here...

    I missed this for a bit, but yep, I'm using the flip fluids addon. Blender's built in fluid sim just isn't up to the task, unfortunately.
