MemberIs this actually feral? The Arcanine's left hand looks a lot like... well, a hand.

PrivilegedThe legs and body make me think he's feral.

MemberEither way the tag war goes I've added semi-anthro.

MemberIt's already weird, tags include feral but also anthro_on_anthro ._.
MagnusEffect
MemberBecause the person that pulled the feral interaction tags out didn't actually remove feral.

Memberi wish we would be more specific and direct with terms because just saying "feral" does not automatically mean zoophilia, quadrupedal characters are called "feral" but those characters can be intelligent and speak meaning its not beastiality or zoophilia, really need new terms or a different way to describe creatures or characters that are quadrupedal because "Feral" is becoming problematic with everyones view
MagnusEffect
MemberThe people who have a problem with it aren't going to let you loophole out like that. Harkness-passing quads will always still be zoophilia to the people who care about being against it, they don't care for the distinction between sapient or realistic depictions and you are not a compatible ally to their other associated views you may agree with.

MemberSome people have a worldview that is true because they believe it and they believe it because it is true. They don't have to ever consider why they believe what they believe, and so anyone who isn't on the same page must be gross and weird. Feral is gross and weird because in the real world it is wrong, nevermind why, who gives a shit right?
That said, why the fuck should those people be allowed to decide how image tags are set?
MagnusEffect
MemberI don't think you'll find any of the site staff involved with the mechanics of the tag saying that fictional animal fucking is morally wrong. And the public pretty infamously doesn't get to decide what core tags mean, despite in some cases the site actively fighting against external definitions. Site policy pretty solidly places anthro/feral as a hard binary with little to no distinction within each category, and that's just how the bestiality tag is run with it.
But the problem with the comment I was replying to is in trying to reason a way to bend other people's social rules to justify associating with people who are against sexualised ferals, when if those people are a group that cares about the intelligence of the animal in question they're going to be understanding anyway regardless of the label, and if they're not a group that cares about the intelligence they hate you no matter how you weasel it. You just can't pretend that because all the characters you're into are Harkness-compliant, the anti-feral people will be happy to hang out with you.
The one thing I can agree on is that sometimes tags are stupid and/or wrong. We have the lore category partially out of the huge fallouts from characters being tagged as opposite sexes than artistically intended, almost lost one of the site's most popular artists due to young tagging guidelines, and people are arguing over whether this post is feral or not. I try (these days) not to care about tagging at all outside of very objective factors like artist name and features that are hard to edge-case. If I went through every ambiguously-anthro/feral post trying to police which are one or the other as 7 users and counting have done here, I'd have no free time and be stressed as hell from all the mental calculations. Much safer to point and laugh when people start fighting over what a character fundamentally is, when such tag warring is a subversion of the very site structure they're attempting to uphold through "correct" tagging.
Until admin steps in, all it tells you is who would rather have this piece in or out of their personal feral searches/exclusions.

MemberThis right here is exactly what the semi anthro tag is for. Along with certain firearms and Optimus Prime, a literal semi anthro.
