This is actually the best moment for Flint to get a redemption thinking about it. If Flash shows up and Flint defends Tesla, even saying he doesn't want to have sexual relations with her right now because she's too affected and pushes Flash away, it could show character growth and show he actually loves her. It'd still take a lot more to completely redeem him but it'd be some steps towards it and it'd make the cast trust him more. Tesla especially might feel like he actually changed.
