  • This week’s fun animal fact: the Galapagos tortoise can go without food it water for over a year, they can store lots of water when a fresh water source is found (although the spend most of their time in shallow pools), and they hatch from eggs the size of ping pong balls

I will be back next week with another fun animal fact.

Edit: holy crap, mentioned in the comic?

Bonus fact: have you heard the story about the spider that trapped in a clock? 20/11/1932, Ohio, Mrs Lois Thompson wake up and trying to turn off her Clock but then she saw something that look like a black dot moving inside the Clock, her husband then checked and confirmed it a spider, the spider try to make a web between the Minute hand and the Hour hand, but as time goes by, the Minute hand move and the web is damaged and the spider keep try to make a new web, over and over, Mrs Lois then tell her neighbor and soon this story make it to the News in 7/12/1932, the spider at this point is as big as a normal house spider and the clock is filled with webs, the story got post in the Associate Press and was updated daily to the people, but how the hell is the spider got in the clock? And what it eat to sustain itself? In 9/12, Harold Madison Director of the Cleaveland Natural History Museum claim the spider probably get in through a small hole in the clock and then squished it self through the hold in the center of the clock to get in, he also make a theory that the spider the Couples saw is a difference one from the current one (prob it baby), others claim there another spider inside the clock that act as a food source, everything only been cleared when a reporter took the Clock to Walter Charles Kraatz a biologist, after examining the clock he saw two clusters of eggs in the rear of the clock, so that how the spider survives, he later decided to not release the spider for further research, this decision make many people disagree and wanted the spider to be released since it was getting weaker, Acron Human Society later give Kraatz a weeks then he have to released it, but then something bad happened, the spider got weaker and weaker as time goes by and in 11/12 it stopped building webs and just sleep in the corner, Kraatz think it just hibernate but after fews more days with no movement from the spider he have to open the clock to checked, the spider had passed away, many News paper post the spider Obituary, said even though the spider had passed away, it death had make the clock got dissembled and therefore the Spider had won against the clock, anddddd the clock got fixed later on and continued it jobs as a clock, one must imagine the Spider happy

Additional fun animal fact: Jonathan (hatched c. 1832) is a Seychelles giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea hololissa), a subspecies of the Aldabra giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea). His approximate age is estimated to be 192 as of 2024, making him the oldest known living land animal.
