Although openly sexual and flirtatious, Nova -- at the time being -- is aromantic; so much so, that the moment she detects someone showing genuine interest for her, she breaks off all ties.

Quirks and traits

Nova talks too much and she talks too loud. She is brash, inconsiderate, and can be rude, blunt and crass. She swears a blue streak and doesn't shy against political, ethical, moral, or traditionally disgusting or offensive topics. She is a competent musician but a screechy and pitchy singer -- and she knows her caterwauling is shit but will still croon to her favorite anthems.

Her voice also bares a strong New England/Brooklyn vibe and she's prone to obscure phrases like "that's a real pisser" and weird conjunction like "gedoutta'ere!"

She was born with the name 'Nicole' but, much like her ex girlfriend, refuses to be called by her birth-given name. Now it's Nova and only her sister or Devi are allowed to called her 'Nikki' or anything even closely resembling the name 'Nicole'.

Hometown

A product of Brooklyn who spent her early childhood all along the Northern-Eastern front of America. She, around the age of 8, moved to Seapoint City in the island country of Lavender Hill.

Relevant Friends, love interests, and nemesis

Nova had been so reserved, shy and timid when she was little that it wasn't until moving to Seapoint City, where she met Devi Randelle, did she ever have a friend. She was the Peppermint Patty to Devi's Marcy and as such their love affection was apparent. Of course being openly bisexual, Nova had traces of curiosity that never bloomed, but she was comfortable enough now to make friends with boys and girls who seemed to have affection for her (that Devi largely kept at bay)

Nova seems to accumulate either a love/hate relationship with people, where the only people indifferent to her are strangers, and her disregard for authority make adults also fall into that category.

Of note, there is also a younger chinchilla boy by the name of Zeke Wilson, who lives in the apartment across the way and who exudes an obvious crush on Nova, that she finds delightful and adorable. Though his crush seems serious, she lets it slide because he's such a cutiepie.

Sadly outside of Devi, she has been unable to sustain regular friends and since Devi moved away and they amicably broke up, the concept of a relationship is also null to Nova.

She is openly promiscuous though and occasionally will form symbiotic and brief relationships with her lovers during the periods they spend together, but these affections rarely carry over to her day to day life.

Family Relation, home, and financial

When she was very young, she was quiet, reserved and timid. A series of tragic events led her to spending years being mute for a time. Her sister moved away to Seapoint City, her parents died one after the other and she was thrown into foster care and endured emotional abuse before finally being shipped to live with her sister in Lavender Hill. Her sister taught her to be tough and within a few months she was talking again and exerted confidence.

She had never been well off financially, but living with her sister, money has been tight. Her sister runs two jobs and seems perpetually tired and Nova tries to lighten that burden by taking odd jobs and chores to help buy food. The quality of their apartment building is appalling as it looks as though at one point the building was modern in the mid 90s and never got an upgrade. Apart from being a little cramped and the condition of the building being crap, their actual apartment is comfortable.

Interests, hobbies and likes

Nova defines herself somewhere between a punk/metal head, a hipster and a gangsta thug and wears things that reflect all three influences. She loves music with teeth and edge and is surprisingly coordinated on most instruments; displaying natural rhythm and timing. She owns a few old (and ultimately valueless) guitars that she strums from time to time. Nova specifically adores music and sound production and will take extreme amounts of time tinkering with sound systems, recording set ups, and even helping people with basic PC audio setup.

Nova is also well-cultured in fast food, which on first impression is nothing much, but with her shocking amount of street knowledge, can stretch 4 dollars into an epic and filling meal using off-menu options.

Lastly, Nova enjoys fine photography and poetry, but prefers that stay under her beanie -- so to speak.

Distastes, fears and anxieties

Looking at her, she seems cool and collected, but under the surface she is subconsciously still upset about her past. Although she doesn't say it, she almost resents it but she is still in love with her ex girlfriend, Devi. She would like to get over it inevitably, but is so resistant that the moment a cheeky affair gets too personal she will almost instantly break it apart.

She has a virtually zero tolerance for death, and even a friend of a friends mom dying will ruin her for days. The thought of her own death, however, doesn't much bug her.

Overall goals.

Fuck, be fucked, have money, have friends, die young. Nova hates contemplating the future. She would get privately annoyed at Devi for talking about it. The future is scary and bad and she must do all the cool things now!

If she had to point at one thing: she would like to be a musician in a polyamorous relationship with a hot girlfriend, a tiny femboy with a thick dick, and all the teenage girls she could fondle... maybe she could be an audio engineer at least.

She kind of misses Devi a lot.
