When you flag a smaller version for deletion, please make it a child of the bigger version.
1) Copy the post number of the bigger version (left sidebar, heading "Statistics", "ID")
2) Edit the smaller version and put in its "Parent Post ID" field: the ID from step 1

This way, when the smaller version is deleted, its favorites are automatically transferred to the bigger version.
Otherwise, the post will disappear from people's favorites.
