you were still too late on showing your kids any affection, but good job for trying to be a father some decade(?) late.

So if you screw up, don't even bother trying to make it better. You're only as good as your mistakes. Redemption isn't possible. Hatred is forever.

    Gotcha.

I definitely don’t like this take. I did some dumb stuff as a teenager, but I’m much more responsible now. The thought I wouldn’t be allowed to help close the store I work in because of something I did when I was 13 is not a fun thought. The person you replied to was being silly.

  • I’m liking how this opening up, and breaking down in front of Serah offers two things: 1) he’s vulnerable right now. Keith is beginning to see for himself just how much he screwed up and hurt his own kids. 2) Serah is seeing a side of dear old dad, that could shock her - that might begin some kind of healing.

Remember she’s had some pain and disgust with respect to Keith.

  • Love that Keith was quick to reassure Serah. Also note the tear in her eye, she loves him too, despite the fact he hurt her

Well I think we all have a natural tendency to lean toward deficiency and excess. The choices that we consciously make, hopefully with reason and intellect have us finding the middle ground. The process promotes more ethical and moral choices and behaviors. We strive for the good.

This process was explained by Aristotle, and is part of our greatest worth. I can see this potential in Keith and Serah; maybe Seb too.

Been missin Seb for a while. Nice to see him in flashbacks, but he needs to be here for this.

While I somewhat agree, I also think this is more so Serah's moment and it aims to keep the focus on her and their father so Seb isn't really needed here.

Though I'm sure he'll get his moment as well. It would be funny if he just walked in and saw this when it was concluding, like "What did I miss?" xD
It would be a very interesting/shocking sight to see Serah and Keith in an embrace, given her previous record of opinions and behavior towards him.

Pretty sure the "Gotcha" bit means the whole take was sarcastic.

He never stopped loving his kids, he was grieving his wife's death. A death which he blames himself for. That's not something you just get over no matter how much time passes, and for him it's only been a few years.

  • I think people are really trying too hard to pick a side when in reality this is just a tragic situation that got out of hand and left the family broken for a while. Without condoning or excusing anything that happened, the reality is it's an unfortunate but predictable side-effect of loss and while it's totally up to the kids to decide whether forgiveness is on the table, if we were talking about a real situation like this, that decision would be *theirs*, not any of ours.

I'd say maybe 2-4 years. They both seem around 16-17 or so

They're actually over 18. Black Kitten has said so in an old QnA on inkbunny, but it's buried so far not a lot of people know.

Also graduation and prom were being talked about earlier in this chapter. Since seniors graduate, and the majority of seniors are 18, the twins are over 18.

BK has mentioned that Seb & Serah are 18. So I think it’s fair to assume they were 10 or 12 when the accident that killed Bethany (mom) occurred.

Originally, they were set to be in their mid-teens, like (15-16) when BK first started the comic. But since then, they changed their age to be at least 18 to avoid drawing any unwanted ire with having Seb and Serah technically being minors. But yeah, I'd say they were probably around 12-13 when the crash happened.

Yeah it's really a situation where things got screwed up just due to it being a really crappy situation that spiraled. Mistakes have been made but there are no good guys or bad guys here are much as people want to push for there to be. There doesn't seem to be any hate sink villains in this story, just people who make mistakes.

  • Black-kitten I just like to thank you for making this comic iv been reading and watching since the first ever page came out seen all your other content to and this particular comic is definitely one of my all time favourites it went from a porn comic like all the rest to a wild emotional roller-coaster which makes this comic so much more special makes it feel more alive keep up the good work love your work love you for keeping with it for all these years and can't wait so see where this leads heck if you made this into an actual 18+ comic book or something I'd buy it that's just how good your work is.

  • I have to admit that if I were in Serah's place or Seb's, I would understand that it was not a bad choice. Seb is very affectionate, attentive and beautiful, Serah is too.
