...yeah, pretty happy with this one. This was actually pretty nice to have happen, because I've been feeling a bit unsure about my drawing style lately (big surprise, eh?) and having a picture turn out really quite well is rather uplifting. Expect more tweaks and changes to how I paint in the near future, but for now this is quite a nice turn out I think.

Snow is actually pretty fun to do. It's fairly simple, technically- you load a brush with some white paint and flick it to splatter white paint onto the canvas. But it's not a brain-dead exercise, because you don't just splatter everywhere evenly. Anywhere you can see into the distance will be able to see a lot of flakes and should be splattered rather heavily with a lot of small droplets, whereas any areas that can only see into the foreground will have most of those distant flakes blocked, so you want to use fewer, larger droplets to represent the few snowflakes you can see over such a short distance.

It's simple, but with a bit of thought it can look really nice, and I think in this case it worked fantastically.
