He got no one who was smart enough to realize the date and that it was clearly kinda BS

It's not as "clearly" as it seems. At first I didn't believe it myself BECAUSE it was April fools, but Tom had a disclaimer, one of those blue messages he leaves that tells you why there is a delay or if something happened to him IRL and in fact Tom was shirking on his posting schedule (at the time was twice a week)
    He said:

No April Fools filler this year. Instead, enjoy this double update to make up for missed days!

Tom has never lied in his blue posts before so I was inclined to believe it. I was still a bit suspect of the post BUT that changed AFTER April fools when there was a second update. By then I was CERTAIN and convinced that it was real because it was AFTER April Fools. The lie even carried onto the week week after, I believed without a doubt that the content was real because it was AFTER April fools and from Tom's history, The year before when Tom did an April fools post he just made one really long post for that one day. At the beginning it had us going but in the middle it seemed a bit far fetched then at the end it was just outlandish and unbelievable. By then it was obviously stated that it was a joke. That was it and it was only for THAT DAY. Tom dragged this years joke out two weeks past April Fools and wasted our time on a joke that did nothing but cause his fans to argue amongst themselves and piss us off. (Those that believed)
If it was all in one day, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

I wouldn't say that it was clearly B.S. if Tom wanted, that could have been the real story content. Hell people consider Laura's ghost inhabiting an illusion spell bullshit but it was actually part of the story and it's controversial. For all we knew at the time that's how it could have been, Plus Tom had his disclaimer which everyone believed without a fault AND he posted after April Fools. It wasn't about being "smart enough to realize" Any "smart" person who followed the logic would've fell for it easily. The disclaimer, the fact he shirked posting updates up to that day so the idea of a bonus double post felt appropriate, how his joke post was the year before being a page on the day of and the fact he kept posting the content after the day of (All things he didn't do before) made it all too convincing for a joke
The only people who weren't fooled were the HEAVILY paranoid (People like you) Until the very end you had no real based logic to disprove those who believed it was real or prove that it was a joke. Most of the examples brought by paranoia supporters were based on illogical notions based on hunches, not logic or patterns from past actions. That fact you were right was nothing but luck. Tom did indeed get us good but he broke the rule of the April fools joke being a ONE DAY THING and used his ALWAYS truthful disclaimers to lie to us. If he set us up on the day of and revealed in the next update that it was a joke, that's one thing, but to continually let us believe for two weeks that a one day joke was real content causing an uproar and infighting among your fans... that's just a little bit much. Just saying.
