You do realize that was only the name of the doctor and that the monster itself never was given a name and was just called the monster

Such an uncalled-for pedantic comment! Not that it matters, but the monster called the doctor his father, so naturally (as Victor Frankenstein's "son") his family name is the same. Both are completely fine.
