Sadly it looks like this one is going to win. I dont have anything against the artist, and its a decent piece.

Its just that it in NO WAY reflects e621 as a whole. It has no unique traits besides being a generic raptor colored blue, and appeals to a subset of the community. On top of that, its not a very marketable character.

Exactly, I don't see how a scaly raptor should represent a furry site. Sure, the art's good, but shouldn't a mascot be chosen for *concept*, not how it's drawn?

I assume the only reason this entry is getting so many votes is because people are using it as a way to say "fuck you" to Chizi's entry and the people voting for it.
