if i had to guess, since there's no line, the vertical ones are just for show because...

The metal parts I assume you are referring to are most likely not hinges, but a place to slide in a metal rod to prevent the opening of the stocks. Although a latch on the side would've been more efficient...

Gotta admmit that this design of eye fited in Katia way better than I guess it would have if someone told me Kazerad decided to do it this way.

They do have a line that separates the top stock plank from the bottom. It's just a faint line that's hard to see if you're not really looking. On the side though, yeah, no line...

Im talking about a vertical line, that separates the left side form the right.
