Description

commission for shadowprints at fA

Tried new method of coloring; soft shadows/lighting were made in AfterEffects and modified in TVpaint. After learning the toolset, I'm confident that it will increase my rendering speed and lessen the hand-drawn shake in some of the blending I do, as well as open more opportunities for hybrid coloring processes. (After effects might handle the animation of fur markings better, once i do more research on motion tracking tools and related.)

Feral's humanoid penis is intentional; request by commissioner.

-edit-

tail placed between the legs instead of out to the side, critique by fritz.

its the...pencil marks? they look like charcoal on the drawings and it makes it look more child wonderment-ish.

what im trying to get to is as good, as smooth, as excellent as your drawings are Fuzzbutt. they just remind me of childrens charcoal drawings, or crayon for western folks.

not to say thats a bad thing, after all my first thought when seeing a lot of your work is "thats pretty good mate".

ahh, i gotchas. Do you think i should lean more towards crisp line stuff? I'm still tinkering with my style options, and I've generally kept it pencily because it's easier to produce content and edit stuffs.

  • While I personally don't see the 'children's drawings' resemblance, I can see where it's born from. That said, I somewhat like the fuzzy, pencil-like quality of the lines. Not only does it make the animations seem more animated, but it's a style I've come to associate with you, Fuzz. And if keeping to this style helps you continue to put out such detailed and fluid animations, I'd encourage you to continue using it.

by all means keep being you, im just saying is it makes looking at them rather off puting since theyre so smooth its almost life like. but if crisp line can be done as well... "the rivers will run white with their joy"

  • If you did crisp up your lines that'd really be something, but I think that might reduce the speed and increase the workload on you, which in turn I believe would increase prices. I might practice that option to diversify your style a bit but I would by no means do away with your original pencily style, since that's what you came to us with. Gotta stick with your roots.
