Thank you. Someone had to say it. And yes, Ecigs and vapes are harmful to you.

I was being critical though. He can be as trendy and pop culture-ey as he likes :3

And well, most Ecigs arent harmful to you. Its only the 'box' types that can get hot enough to release carcinogens anyway.

Additionally, that particular study has since been shown to emulate conditions in which no vaper would ever inadvertently find or willingly put themselves. Basically, the study found that burning cotton dry produces lots of carcinogens.

Ahh, the power of pick-and-choose media/news.

  • The issue with people claiming "e-cigarettes" (which in itself is a pretty inaccurate term for most vaping devices) are harmful is that what "can" be harmful is largely situational. That study used way too many weak words to be taken seriously. "Suggests." "Can." It even said there's a lot of uncertainty and lack of research. But one thing's for sure, actually getting your coil hot enough to get the wick to produce carcinogens is absolutely ridiculous. You'd have set fire to it by that point. I don't know why anyone downvoted Jaootpykha's post. He's entirely correct in pointing out how the media only picks out the details they want you to know in order to persuade the public to their opinion, even if it has little to no evidence for it and a very weak argument to begin with.
