Yet, Tirek was able to steal the pegasi’s ability to fly, meaning that the ability to fly is a magical ability and walking on clouds is probably an extension of this ability. Without the natural magical properties that give them the ability to fly they are, literally, ponies with useless wings. As for unicorns and their magic; they have the inherent ability to learn and use magic. A unicorn isn’t born with the knowledge to, say, create fireworks like the ones Trixie displays. You can even see that Sweetie Belle struggles with, what appears to be simple for other unicorns, telekinesis. Same goes for earth ponies and their greater strength and endurance. Tirek was able to steal these from them. Since was able to steal all these abilities we can assume that they are all natural magical abilities. And if all this isn’t proof enough for you. Think about Bulk Biceps. Tiny Wings and massive muscles. He shouldn’t even be able to fly yet he can and he can interact with clouds like any other pegasus
