    Well #1 is the dog, obviously, but what is #2, the Caterpie stand?

    Is that even official artwork?

    Even if it is, the show's canon =/= All of Pokemon's canon.

    so whats the problem? many animals we normally associate as pets (i.e. dogs) are regularly consumed in parts of the world, and i'm sure most of them are not at the top of the natural food chain either.

    There are actually regular animals in the pokemon world. It's just that no one really cares about them and they are mentioned...passively.

    In the first season during the episode where Clefaries were stealing stuff from some town. A chef was complaining how his pot was stolen and how he couldn't cook CHICKEN. I only remember this because at one point I had no life.

    Yeah... and its funny cause the pokemon they made that was supposed to be a chicken is the all powerful blaziken. You know, because blaziKEN and chicKEN. Imagine if the chef said he couldnt cook blaziken. The blaziken would cook the chef before he came close to cooking it.
