We don't use outside information to tag posts (including other images of the same character). The only thing that is taken into consideration is what you can see in the image.

That seems like a pretty flawed system.

You would think that the owner or artist would have the final say on what their character is rather than leaving it up to the subjectivity of uploader's personal preference/opinions.

Same with the old drama about the the retagging of female Charr pictures as cuntboys due to Charr females having the same build as their male counterparts, just with nipples, a vagina, a fluffy tail, and a "softer/calmer" face.

Actually, the point of the policy is to take as much as the subjectivity out of it as possible in favor of more objective and consistent tagging. The uploader's personal preference/opinions have no real weight here besides getting the first chance to tag it; if they don't tag them based on our guidelines they will usually get changed.

I'd recommend having a look at Tag What You See (explained) and howto:tag genders as they go into a lot more detail in explaining it.

  • Dunno what the admin was smoking, but this is very obviously a femboy, not a shemale. Shemale would have had actual breasts.
Or dickgirl, whatever the tags are called these days

  • I don't appreciate my admins being called "fucking stupid". Disagree if you'd like, complain to me privately about an admin decision even, but this kind of attitude towards site staff (or really, anyone) isn't acceptable here.

Tag What You See is not a new policy to e621, and it does have its flaws. However, we are a community site with a detailed and robust tagging system, and the people who help support that tend to know a thing or two on how it works.

If anyone would like to continue discussing this matter, I suggest contact me directly at [email protected], sending me a PM, or emailing my team at [email protected].

You see, tags can be edited by anyone, not just the uploader themselves. If you see tags that are missing or need removing, click the "Edit" button below each post and tag away! And yes we do run on the twys rule as explained above.

Isn't he in the right to defend his staff? If you were causing a disturbance in mcdonalds and were insulting the cashier, if he couldn't peacefully resolve the situation and you continued causing trouble, that person would probably see you out.

    ...I guess... *derp face*

If the breasts were covered I would lean towards male+girly (given the ambiguity), but those are definitely intended to be small breasts, which fits better under dickgirl than male.

As stated by previous other people, Its not intended, I had the option to remove it but felt the need to comment as while I've been a browser of E621 but not a member until recently I didn't know the editing rules. Could you, or allow me to remove the dick girl tag? As its false information.

Despite the labels, the "gender tags" are only meant to convey what is visually present. Even then these tags only give a rough approximation of the image, and may not even match the bio or story behind the character themselves. We do allow information like this to be added to the description field (and you are free to add to that, if you wish). Just note that it would still need to be tagged according to our policies, even if those tags conflict with the description.

That being said, I do agree that this is definitely a borderline case. If you want me to, I can bring this up with the committee on your behalf, though I can't promise anything will come of it.

I would appreciate that greatly, as Its not the first time people have assumed this issue and its quite frustrating. I understand that it may not come out on my end but again, thanks for giving the option to try.

I wanted to let you know that I did bring this up with committee and it was decided that the dickgirl tag does still apply in this case, so I'm going to have to stand by that decision.

I understand that dealing with this on multiple sites can be frustrating. It's nothing against you or your character, it's just that the guidelines here have been designed to keep the search and blacklist as consistent and predictable as possible, and we base our decisions with this in mind.

If you are looking to minimize confusion, I would still like to suggest adding this information to the description field. It won't come up with regular searches, but it does display under the image and will be there for those that might want to know more about your character.

If you still have any questions about this feel free to send me a PM.

The admins here are fucking stupid.

Just ignore them and tag correctly. This is a community site.

Just because the admins have power doesn't mean they're not idiots, or that they have any real authority, other than the power to censor people.

they banned this guy cause they knew he was right

Please don't ignite another shitstorm over absolutely nothing.
Just sit down for a moment, have a look and then come to the conclusion that opinions are not objective "Hm, I guess somebody could see this differently than I do"

It's not worth making a fuss over something so small.

  • I thought this was male at first and in no way a dick girl so i think the tag should be male, since there's more indication that its a boy than a girl

I have such a love/hate relationship with this site's system. It's ALMOST perfect.

No offense but those are clearly pectoral muscles and not breasts.

Artists kinda do get the last say, seeing they get to choose what to include in the picture and what not to. This site is more of a search engine for images than anything.

For people wanting to stay loyal to the lore of a character, the source is most often available. Tagging stuff that isn't in the picture only causes incorrect "search results" for consumers. When in doubt, tag both perspectives that can be seen (even if they are mutually exclusive), ..I guess.
