Description

Osmium.

Its alloys with platinum, iridium, and other platinum group metals are employed in fountain pen nibs.

  • Osmium is also the only naturally occuring metal with a blueish hue and it's oxide is highly volatile and toxic. I'm not 100% sure but I also believe it to be the densest of all nonradioactive metals and has the highest melting point which is why alloys of it are used in crucibles.

Osmium is THE densest metal with the density of 22.59 g/cm^3!

I'm looking this up because I might forgotten the exact number.
