Description
It's been long in the making, but it was high time that I got a picture together with my dear friend and most delightful sister, Nika! For more immersion, I personally took the liberty to write you all a bit of a short story to give everyone an idea of what's going on in this image!
By the way, the game we're featuring here, is the awesome space travel game, Elite: Dangerous! We're flying in Nikas Python, and I ended up being the pilot! Don't worry, I know how to fly...Kinda! X3
Funfact: Did you guys know that the sun in the background is actually a screenshot I took myself from in-game :O The artist was awesome enough to be okay with using it! X3
(For those of you on e621: There's a story to go with this image on my FA submission of this image! Read it at the Source link if you like! FA account required.)

BlockedSo I dunno why my initial sub was removed from e621 and ippiki putting this in its place. Kinda upset about that cause both my fursonas, and my friend Nikas names were removed from the tags. I don't care if you're an e621 admin, I don't appreciate my credits being taken away from an image I paid for.

Memberthe logic of this pic hurts my brain... do they have shields, how far our they from the sun?
VexAndSilence
MemberThe answer to your questions is:
Yes. Shields area thing in Elite so they do indeed have shields.
And they appear to be about 30-60Ls(Light seconds) from the star in question. For perspective: The earth is roughly 500Ls from the sun. The moon is about 1.28 Ls from the earth.
Bonus answer: That is most likely not Sol (the sun) but likely another G, K, M, S, MS, A, B, F, WNC, CN, or CJ Type star.
Nerdom achieved!
PS: I'm not normally into sharks, but this; I like this.

Memberthink god a nerd showed up I mean the 405th has some egg head's (I'm one of them) but this pic took me off because, they're sharks in space heating for them would be a big deal which brings up the question why the fuck are they there, because I don't see any damage to the ship, so unless the drive system shut down I don't see why they'd want to be that close because stargate show that even if you have shields the heat would drain them pretty slowly but the hull temp would be climbing.
