Dragon scales 3

More dragon practice. I figured, I've drawn a male and a female, so why not round things off nicely with a herm? And a cute purple one to boot.

I know there's not that many herm fans out there among the ranks of my watchers, mostly 'cause I don't draw them often, but to those of you who do like them, I hope you enjoy.

So, anyway, this was sort of an attempt to combine the effects of the last two dragon pictures I've done, that being a mostly smoothish scale effect with a little gapping at certain areas to give a slightly rougher effect...

Well, long and short of it is, I actually almost didn't end up even bothering to finish this picture, because I could already see it wasn't working well xD So, no need to crit this one folks, I can see what's going down here. But the main idea of the scales, I think, will work... once I figure it out. The tail is atrocious, but there are areas I quite like too, so I just gotta figure out what it is makes those areas work and why, and such, and I'll be on my way...

Also, major scanner raep. But this one's not that great anyway, so who cares... they're just practice pieces.

I hope to be finishing up my last commissions tomorrow- sorry about not working on them lately, but I'm trying to fix a busted sleep pattern, which means I'm VERY tired, and trying to draw with eyes that don't even want to focus isn't something I'd wanna risk on a commission. x3 Hopefully tomorrow.

BUT yeah, I'll get these things figured out eventually x3
