  • Now here's an idea that should be in the next Pokemon game. Perhaps not nearly as extreme as this, but the idea of a Pokemon displaying hybrid physical traits would be cool.

That would be pretty fun, though it would most likely devolve into a sim more akin to Monster Rancher or the D pet digimon.

Still, it'd be fun to see the variety of mixtures you could get.

Tamagachi. D pets were little LCD sims that ran on a technology like watches. They were small enough that they were generally keychains.

The Tamagachi had dogs and cats, but more series went into cute monsters. it caught on, so Bandai made a version for boys.

Digimon were D pets like the others, but instead of walks, you trained them in "shadow boxing". There was also the bonus of being able to battle your Digimon against a friend's. In fact, doing battles was how you get the final forms.

Here is a pair of the originals

Oh, those. I remember my brother and I each got one for christmas, but mine got the good final form due to me winning more. Then he convinced me to reset it to "start all over."

ironically, the final form would be obtained regardless of how many fights you won, you just needed to be IN enough fights.

it just takes a bit longer to get the final form if it was losses, so his hurry in resetting actually robbed him of the final form.

There were two Final forms, weren't there? He ended up on the Shadow route, and I was on the "pure" route or something. Sort of like how in the Anime, Season 3, Guilemon had that corrupted Mega form, Megidramon, when he was evolved without love.

I'm not sure if victories played a part in what form you would get, though, I think it'd make more sense for it to be based on how you care for it.

Evolutions up to champion form were based strictly on how often you took care of your digimon's needs (when it beeps and calls for you). If you ignored the beeping and the icon for the call faded out, that would count as a "mark", which would be a penalty.

For example, in 1.0, the ones i posted, when you have koromon (the ball with ears), if you are very attentive and get nearly no calls, you'll get Aumon, but if you DO get too many calls, you'll get Betamon.

Agumon can turn into Greymon, tyrannomon, Meramon. Betamon can turn into Devimon, airdramon, and Seadramon.

Both can turn into Numemon (a slug who shoots poop) if you are very bad at raising your digimon.

to get past the champion forms, you need to battle enough times and take decent care of your digimon.

Here is a proper evolution chart for 1.0
