Yes and no. Yes, if you played the most recent grinding-er "quest chain". Tenno are cyborg kids who are locked in a VR pod inside of a moon and are several hundred if not thousand years old. I said VR pod, not Stasis pod. The frames are muscle, blood, mech, and bits formed together and easily controlled by the Tenno, who can freely jump from one Frame to another and can make/rebuild any that are broken (Kinda like a player playing a video game, huh?!?!? lolololzzzzzz)

However, if you take that as true, then basically EVERYTHING else about the game is not true and has been for NOTHING.

-The restraining bolt on your frame
-the backstories of all the frames
-the worry about life
-the mess that the mad scientist was doing
-the torture of Mesa and Nova

All of that means, well, nothing.

It's just DE trying to make a plot twist without putting ANY thought into it. Seriously, they seem to go out of their way to screw over the community, and due to this move, it's caused a bunch of people to stop warframe porn because "oh god think of the non existent children!"

And porn of it was one of the few things that was interesting about it.

A thought about that could be that the frames were precious few and the 8? pods in that quest were all the pilots there were for the majority of it, still discounting stalker and umbra as they seem to self pilot or such.
the backstories for many of the frames could have been the replication process and such, that the really old 'defense' mission with the cryo pods were some of the other tenno controlling others... which means there would probably be a kid out there that potentially only recalls having their skin removed and when they reconstruct Valkyr, they remember the damage and the skin gets removed from the finalization processes.

this means little other than that either the people who were converted like Umbra have very basic memories that have been seen by the tenno/ship AI (forgot the name) and it got recorded, or that the kid did something controlling them that triggered the story, if I recall, Rhino's story technically he just shuts down when it went inside of a room, they may have stumbled into the very same room as the tenno piloting him and gave the tenno vertigo seeing himself so.

just me trying to think of ways they could have very much so retold the story to cover the terrible time distorted mess that I kind of dropped out of after they nerfed the ever living shit out of the cryo cannon on the railjack as that was when i had gotten too tired of grinding to continue.
