Its not so much he hated her. He was more likely pissed at her. At the begining of the comic she was asking quiet a lot saying things in ways she probably shouldn't have, plus she did ruin the fun with the lovely gryphon.

Yea, and I wouldn't quite say he had an Oedipus complex either. My guess is growing up his parents were distant emotionally and he's making up for lost time with all this affection.
