Oculus VR TestDrive

This was a lot of work. I created a workflow that makes it a little bit easier for me to transfer scenes from max into unity. And while I still have some problems... as a proof of work this works well I think.
This should work for most people even if you do not have an oculus rift. If it does not work for you, I am likely not able to help you.
To make it work with the rift keep these Requirments in mind:
requires: Version 1.10 (SDK 0.8.0.0) of the oculus runtime.
Otherwise the VR stuff will just not show up.

Hope at least some people enjoy this. I am going to enjoy my pizza now.
Also i should mention that this is pretty much windows only.

  • You can't exactly upload windows executables here, but I'm certain many here would be interested of this and I remember seeing game advertisements including yiffalicious here which are basically the same thing.

It did feel somwhat clunky to control and animation being 30 FPS makes it feel bit laggy, but that's still pretty nice experiment.

And angarigs pretty nice guy, he fixed SBS-3D video file of this available in parent post :)

  • I wonder if there is any way to emulate this on PC? I though I read something about it... because, you know, not going to get VR thingy so easily D:

This is basically PC only. Just download the thing and run it. Without oculus it just looks regular 2D unity stuff.
If you have 3D equipment, you can use unitys default launch parameters to enable stereo view even if it isn't as immersive, "-vrmode stereo" or "-vrmode split".

There's "Mates" posted on artists FA and SoFurry that work on Google Cardboard, but there's not many ways to post the stuff here, latest upload was removed as screencap and videos got pretty negative response.
