Yes. If it's an exact match to an image already uploaded, the attempt to upload will instead redirect to the version already here and update the tags with any additional tags. Sort of acts like an aborted-upload-attempt/tag-edit-merge all in one. It can feel a little bit like black magic when it happens though. ^_^
