As a side note: Can someone lend me a hand/paw/claw/fin and convert post #835477? I keep trying but file size ends up being over 200MB :/

For me the parent post video format works FAR better on both mobile and tablet than this does, this one lags like hell on all the browsers I use on them (Opera, Firefox, Chrome) and I do have higher end android phone. And they also are far better quality, but whatever :p

Problem with your converting method is that you are trying to convert the whole video with full resolution. Those videos have several loops combined because of audio and far bigger resolution than you should use in a gif. What you need to do is to take only single loop, reduce the resolution and you are fine!

Even this one is 13 MB too big because of that.
Anyways, here are not-so-insane and better optimized versions (lower filesize, not dotted skin, no hitching at loops end) of both: http://imgur.com/a/zwDQ7

Last time it was deleted was because it was patreon only content, which meant it was paid content and under two years old. Parent posts are uploaded by the artist themselves so I would assume them not being taken down at that point :p

What program did you use? I'm new to this converting file thing. Guess I need to read some more tutorials then. Thanks a lot for the advice, I'll take all in count for the future.

Btw, feel free to upload those here instead of this if you want to. Just remember to flag this as inferior if you do.

All I used was Gimp and FFmpeg. Ffmpeg to turn video into PNG images, look out where the images loop, import those images as layers into gimp, do all the magic in gimp (scale down, positioned dithering, optimize) and export as animated gif.
Can't point to exact tutos how to do all the stuff and explaining everything step by step would be really big wall of text, but google and try things out, maybe you can find even better method that I'm using :3

That's actually super weird behavior. It's made clear that there shouldn't be paid content here and by pointing that out, you aren't mocking anyone, simply stating it shouldn't be here at this moment of time.
Nobody should get downvoted for that.
