Actually, she's not shaving. The thing in her hand is a deshedding edge, such as a Furminator. Shibas shed like the dickens, to the point that giant tufts/clumps of fur will appear all over them, like weeds, when they blow their coat. The amount of fur that comes off of them can make it seem like an army of tribbles is procreating in your home. So, I think the joke is that even a pudgy shiba will lose weight after a good grooming. 🐕🐾🐾

All that aside, I absolutely adore this piece! As far as I'm concerned, that is the perfect figure on a gal.
