Honestly, I thought that a few of the originals were kinda stupid, too. It was still mostly pretty good until post-Gold/Silver, IMHO. In particular, the legendaries have gotten retarded lately.

I have to say that while I'm a strong fan of the original 151, there are quite a few of the newer ones I love. Blaziken, Lucario, Gardevoir, Shinx, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Houndoom, Mightyena, Latias and Suicune to name a few.
