Yeah, there's this really big stupid debate going on about that. According to the show creator, they are physically sexless, but not mentally. They all use female pronouns.

However, they can all shapeshift their forms...so I guess problem solved yeah?

If Rose and Greg are any indication, then it's entirely possible for any gem to procreate with humans and reproduce with them through the power of shapeshifting. I mean this isn't even a debate anymore with the word of God and implications the show gives.
