Yeah, I could convert some whole movie in HD to gif, but what is the point? There's reason why gifs are done with low resolutions and frame rates. There was already really good gif from artist directly and much higher quality video, now there's also massive filesize gif which is still much lower quality from the video, nobody wins :|

Actually Some people don't trust things without previews. Like the video has no preview, it just says VIDEO. Making it less trustworthy. Then there are people like me who can't view videos. So really somebody needs to convert gifts for people like us.

These things I do understand. Reason why I have been asking for thumbs for video files several times actually :p

My comment is most likely for situation from almost year ago, I remember there was tons of differend versions, both video and gif being uploaded off this. I guess my point was that people who can't watch video/flash material are most likely using outdated machines and mobile, meaning those users most likely do not see difference between smaller resolution, but larger filesize will create issues for them.
