Nope, It is acutally a joke about how there are too many Fighting/Fire type starters. Boxing Gloves and Muscles are 2 key traits of fighting types. He/She did not want the kiten to grow up with fighting type tendencies and feared them evolving into one, So he prevents litten from interacting with fighting type items.
