That if question is figurative. Actually heart doesn't feel anything and brain does all feelings, including fear. Especially fear, as fear requires some acknowledgement of threat from brain.

Yeah and because of that fear one is able to live another day. That fear either feeds their will to fight against overwhelming odds or feed our muscles to RUN faster than the other guy/gal that's with you.

Either way fear is one of the most important emotions that is needed to survive. Although there are those that have found ways to conquer their own inner fears and become far stronger than if they drew their strength from that same fear.
