I tend to notice that in worlds where hedonism dominates, the people in them tend to be very unpleasant.

I know it's pretty much unwarranted, but I have to express my thoughts on this comic because I find it fucking disgusting.

So the dad's overtly meek character is really off-putting. He's at the point where he'd much rather fuck his own daughters out of desperation stemming from his wife openly cucking him and his neighbor basically rubbing it on his face. What are his plans for the weekend then? To pick up his daughter and niece... from elementary school... and taking them both to a hotel... for the weekend... and the wife fails to notice anything odd about the proposal?

But whatever, not like it's going to be grounds for concern considering everyone in this universe walks around with their genitals exposed and sometimes showing arousal. It looks fucking stupid, but hey that's how society operates apparently. And also, apparently, there's no cameras in the hotel rooms and nobody questions why a grown-ass man is booking a suite with two girls who look to be 8 years old rather than teenagers.

Then... this random character pops up, turns out he had been getting busy with the daughter and was convoked to the dad's incestuous gathering by her, reveals the dad's niece isn't actually his niece but his illegitimate daughter, result of him banging his brother's wife behind his back, and threatens him with getting both girls pregnant and leaving him to take the blame, so he'd 'better accommodate to him taking what's his'.

WHAT IS YOURS? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Shit ensues, comic implies he ended up knocking up his own daughter and his other daughter got knocked up by the other guy, and he goes on about it calmly telling to himself 'yep, t'was a good day today', and then his wife, possibly for the first time in her married life, displays a singular speck of care and concern for her family's integrity by calling over to see how they're doing. And he... he doesn't care to pick up? and then we cut to the wife with like 10 other dudes laying on top of her, with one of them going 'if your daughter was here I'd fuck her too'.

Listen, I'm all in for unconventional storytelling. I'm here for kinks and unrealistic scenarios being presented and depicted in the most fantastical and unexpected ways. That's what we're all here for. But there comes a point where it is just straight up winceworthy and nasty, and this comic really ploughs the field at the other end of the gate. The thing almost reads like a satire of furry porn, where everyone's an unlikable piece of shit with no morals, who show no emotional baggage, where nothing really matters and it's all about fucking each other silly and getting your relatives pregnant, sometimes without their knowledge or consent.

All this really should've been was a series of pictures of a dad and his daughter getting it on, no cuckolding, no weird shit, and maybe it could've been enjoyable.

The art is good and all that, but man are the characters mostly unlikable.

Just because it's porn doesn't mean it can escape criticism or that it's writing is allowed to be less than if it weren't porn, you don't get to just say "well, it's only pizza, what did you expect?" when your pizza is literally half cooked and lacking toppings you ordered.

You see, the thing about this comic that people feel is unfitting is the fact that the setting itself establishes one thing; we live in a place where characters go around bottomless. It's a world full of casual nudity whereever you go, and that concept alone more than makes for a pretty appealing read in a porn comic, but what I just /don't/ get is, if you're having this type of setting involving a fetish, why the hell are we getting so much focus on cuckolding?

The comic harps on that we should be just fine with the main character leaving his wife to get fucked by like 30 people and giving off an awkward look, that we should be fine with him getting it on with girls that look more like oversized 12 year olds than actual teenagers with a childlike mindset, and that we should be fine with a guy appearing out of the blue to have sex with them and telling the main character that he should shut the fuck up.

RE: the porn itself, the buildup to it is mediocre as shit and takes 9 pages for the characters to shut up, only for the payoff to be mediocre and lasting a whopping 2 regular pages and then another one which feels like a bonus more than anything.

I don't oftentimes get picky about my porn, but damn it, I think it's safe to say that if this didn't involve incest at all and the daughters were replaced with something like, I don't know, french maids or secretaries, I wouldn't have given a single shit about it. It's horrid and, just in the sense that the characters aren't likable, comes across as in bad taste.

Of course not! It took, what, eight pages to get to any sex. Can you criticize it? Sure. Just don't present your opinion as fact.

If you can find me the grand rule book of writing smut and point out the line that says it has to be a fantasy or escapist experience for it to be any good, I'll take it all back. It seems like you have some very firm ideas of what porn needs to be for you to enjoy it, which is good. I mean, for me the sex is the end, not simply a means to an end. As opposed to having this whole plot and sex lead up to a disappointing ending, I see it as some plot leading to sex with a nice epilogue. Admittedly, yes, this isn't the way that Zaush organized it, but it seems like we're all pretty open to taking some liberties with interpreting this comic.

Besides, a huge part of establishing this setting and story was placing it all within the context of this being a very promiscuous society. I mean, none of this is out of the ordinary for anyone involved; it's simply how life is. Sometimes your kid fails a science test; sometimes she invites some asshole to your bang-fest. It's life. Personally, I think he's gone to great lengths to present us with a world where any arguments about the morality of these actions are totally moot because nobody in this world really seems to care. Hell, the dad's the only one who's ever seen openly distressed (not just surprised; distressed) about one of these situations.

Reading the whole comic again I feel like not only is John being cucked by Dane and has to deal with Sam and John is cheating with his brother's wife but I also feel like the reader is being cheated out of seeing the whole thing. Three pages of sexual content and you don't even get to see Lara tossed about like a midget at the circus. 1/4 of the comic is dedicated to the setup.

This, yes, is framed in a society that is implicitly more sexual. We've seen that in the precursor comic where, even without sneaking off and hiding it, there were two dudes rimming each other in the back yard. You can go for that.

But the way they go about with their sexuality is in a very unhealthy manner. Dane, the maned wolf, and co. know that they're being pricks. This isn't them having sex that is agreed upon in an open relationship. This is them fucking his wife and daughter behind the patriarch (John)'s back, knowing full well it makes him uncomfortable, but doing it anyway. This is them black-mailing the patriarch with knowledge of his illicit affairs and his bastard child, and threatening to impregnate one/both in order to fuck him over.

This isn't the matriarch having sex with guys to the comfort level of the partner, this is her having sex with other guys instead of her partner to the point that it is making him obviously uncomfortable, and going through with it anyway.

It's a free sexy comic that's 2/3rds not very sexy if you're not into cuckolding, but not so poorly developed that you can skip over it as a plot convenience. The fact that people are criticizing the fact that 2/3rds of it is developing that these people are massive douchebags for the sake of cuckoldry shouldn't be a surprise. It's 2/3rds disagreeable fluff to many people. Also, "Free" doesn't mean "you can't criticize this or otherwise speculate on it"; people can damn well look the gift horse in the mouth if they please.

Did I enjoy the three pages of people not being shit-heads to each other and just fucking each-other's brains out and having a good time? Sure, it was nice to look at, had the usual little bit of goofiness in the background as well with the people looking across the way at the other suite.

I also was pretty ambivalent about the rest because it was people being dicks for the sake of it. To this day, there is no concrete explaination as to what happened in the Bottomless District, who these sick criminals were and what their current location is, as they were not seen or heard of again, the group seems to have banished in thin air, and as the news media continues to cover up nearly every single report of an assumed lead on the case by the Topless District Police Department, there is simply no solution regarding this case.

However, nearly two years after the occurrence, an assault taking place on the outskirts of the Barefoot District, involving a massacre of biblical proportions, where an estimate of 1870 people were found either poisoned or brutally smashed beyond physical body recognition. (Warning: Many words ahead!) I'll admit, I was initially roped right into this comic thanks to Adam Wan's superb drawing skills and the sheer dirty kinkiness of it all. It's true that e621 is a place to go to see kinks fulfilled that could never happen in reality in good conscience. The comic succeeds at that level, and it looks gorgeous in the process. But still, approaching it again in a different mood, I totally agree that the characters are despicable. Even the first time through, I felt like it ended with a lot unresolved.

I like to think of it all as a hidden treatise on how terrible a place this outwardly comfortable suburbia would be if it really existed. We've seen the bottomless district in other pictures from this artist before, and it seemed like a fun and wonderful place, but now the district's true hideousness is revealed. The district's residents are so utterly obsessed with sex that adultery, incest, and underage sex are the order of the day. Kinky and fun, perhaps, until less assertive husbands lose their loved ones to brutish alpha males, and irresponsible pregnancies bring hardship to young girls.

Would you really want your wife to secretly favor your own brother, or kick you out of the house because the neighbors are hotter? Would you want to raise a child when you have years of school left to get through? Even if you're a cigar-chomping super-stud, how will you feel when you grow old and lose your looks, and you realize that despite all your conquests in your heyday, no one actually loves you?

I'm sort of restating what others have said, but I just wanted to posit the idea that maybe this wretched image of the bottomless district could be taken as the main message of the story. I'm nearly positive Adam Wan didn't intend anything that deep with this comic, but I like to look at it that way anyway, because I can.

What might be really satisfying is a follow-up comic that addresses the wrongdoing in this one, by observing as all the skeletons are taken out of the closet and the family falls apart. Every character would have to take a hard look at themselves and make amends for being assholes, or be lost in fragmented, loveless relationships forever more. (Or nuclear fire, if they do an especially bad job. :P ) But since that would be quite a task to ask of Adam Wan or any other artist, it might have to stay in our imaginations. :(

tl;dr You're all right to criticize the characterization in this comic. I feel more comfortable imagining, no matter how unlikely, that it was intended all along to show off how bad these people are.

The setting of this comic is almost like a dystopia if anything else. It reminds me books and movies about a nation's decent to social degeneracy, the people lacking in basic moral values, everyone's a narcissist, perversions of all types run rampant, the people indulge themselves in porn, hobbies, media for sources instant gratification.

Perhaps I'm being a bit overdramatic, but I can't help but have this feeling when I read this comic it's not the actual fetish aspects themselves, but the fact that it tries to be realistic with its characters and story.

Now for the 8chan brick of text, as enjoyable as it was to read the atrocities these horrible characters went through, I feel like that wasn't satisfying enough. What I mean is that from what they are doing it would be way more gratifying to have them suffer for their choices rather than have some third party come fuck shit up.

If you guys think about it as being humanoid furries that have retained their feral sex drive and pack dynamics, it actually makes a lot of sense.
the dad is clearly a beta, so of course he would fuck behind people's backs and get cucked at every turn. sex among close relatives does happen in the animal kingdom, but this is a point that I still question a little with the dangers of inbreeding being pretty apparent...if indeed such dangers exist at all in this world.

My issue with this is basically the lack of unique characters.

Zaush draws only three character types:

-promiscuous female character(s) who only seek sex and nothing else

-‘alpha male’ asshole who, in all actuality, would make for a god awful leader, as backstabbing and manipulating drive people away. Alpha males are traditionally leaders, but ‘Dane’ would be a shitty leader

-‘beta male’ character, often the husband or boyfriend of the main female, gets cucked, cockblocked and blackmailed by literally every male around him

These types of characters get old. FAST. Not only is it sexist against women, but it’s so basic and repetitive that I find it hard to enjoy any of Zaush’s work anymore. Sure, they’re a good artist but all of this just sours it to the point where I wanna spit it into the garbage can and never come back to it.

Every character in this comic deserves to have their frontal lobe blown off by an Anti-Tank round.

They would honestly be more likeable and have a lot more depth if every one of them was Lobitimized AND in a (well deserved) slowly deteriorating coma, simultaneously.

The art here is some of the best I've seen for a comic like this but *sigh* why with the story? I see from the years of comments above that most people think this but wouldn't this story have been better if everyone was just a little bit less shitty? Not even just the obvious characters like Dane, Sam, and Lara who disregard any feelings John has.

Chelsea willingly invited Sam to the hotel. The hotel that was supposed to be John's only safe place in the entire series to not be fucked over (pun intended). And Chelsea decided bringing a roided out asshat would be a good idea. If I'm reading this right she did it to distract her "cousin" to have the night with her dad alone but it doesn't look like that happened anyway based off the following pages so really John just ended up getting cucked by his own daughters this time. Big surprise.

John himself cheated on his wife with his own brother's wife and even had a kid with her so he gets his own douchebag award.

Really the only character who's not a dick in this whole comic is Cynthia but she's such a one-dimensional loli type character that I barely acknowledged her existence. I really don't want to know what her cannon age is either because she looks 12 at the oldest. I'm guessing she's "18" officially but let's be honest, she's not.

Also if anyone actually reads a comment that came 4 years too late, can anyone shed light on how John ended up sleeping with his daughters in the first place? This is a world of canines. These are known to have sex with relatives. Wolves, too, while we're at it.

The bottomless stuff is actually an interesting take at a hedonistic world view, away from the regulations and necessities of clothes. I assume that the clothes they actually wear are plain fashion.

About the age - they are teens. Following zaushs style, he is used to draw the females lithe and usually smaller than the males. So it's more artistic decision than underage.

The story - he seems fine with infidelity and promiscuity. John, I mean. But Dane is an exception. Not sure why, but he clearly dislikes him. Perhaps because of the first comic prior to this one.

The character isn't that random, that said. He appeared in the first comic as well along Dane.

It's a dog world. I am not sure if it's an enjoyable one, tho - someone else said earlier: the people this hedonistic world produces seem to be rather unpleasant. I tend to agree - it seems to benefit those who are daring and mean enough to take it all... Oh wait, we got such a world already in other terms.

The comic harps on that we should be just fine with the main character leaving his wife to get fucked by like 30 people and giving off an awkward look, that we should be fine with him getting it on with girls that look more like oversized 12 year olds than actual teenagers with a childlike mindset, and that we should be fine with a guy appearing out of the blue to have sex with them and telling the main character that he should shut the fuck up.

RE: the porn itself, the buildup to it is mediocre as shit and takes 9 pages for the characters to shut up, only for the payoff to be mediocre and lasting a whopping 2 regular pages and then another one which feels like a bonus more than anything.

I don't oftentimes get picky about my porn, but damn it, I think it's safe to say that if this didn't involve incest at all and the daughters were replaced with something like, I don't know, french maids or secretaries, I wouldn't have given a single shit about it. It's horrid and, just in the sense that the characters aren't likable, comes across as in bad taste.

Some things make me violent. Some things make me sad. This just makes me disappointed as a writer myself. Worldbuilding, when done wrong and even in porn is an immediate disappointment. Add the unsavoury nature of this(and only having decided to read it based on the quality of the art), and it's bordering on depressing.
It ain't just like turning off a switch, it's more like going to the power plant and detonating it.

I swear I had seen an edit of this comic where someone made the dialogue a little (a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttlllllllllllleee) less cringe, I specifically remember panel 5 where she says "Well, that's why he's my husband, and you're just a fuck."
