Description

Clawhauser tells the tale.

Yeah, I know plural wolf is noted in the text and singular wolves are shown visually. He's mashing together a number of incidents in his speech, but only one is cued up for flashback.

But hey I drawed a wolfing.

  • Little known fact, Foxes have scent glands on the bottoms of their feet.

Want to sneak around as a Fox you need to wear shoes.

  • It should by all rights be nearly impossible to keep an affair secret in Zootopia. You'd need to be really, really careful and wash a lot to avoid having each of you smell like the other - and a file room visit like the one that happens in this strip would be like sending up a flare, with both of you smelling like sex AND like each other.

Might could get away with it if you can avoid Canines like in Bunnyburrow.

The very act of excessively cleaning in an attempt to remove odors would in itself probably be a give away.

Yep. Or washing with the same soap/shampoo brand 'cos you are at your lover's house. Too many good noses! Lots of animals have noses as good or better than wolves, like many bears and also wolverines.

I guess in that case, it would still be better to cover it up and have them know something is up but not know what exactly instead of letting them know for sure exactly what it is.

Also, if a scent giving you away like this is such common knowledge in the Zootopia world, and likely has been for centuries, how come neither Nick nor Judy considered this could happen?

  • Most likely because they aren't very experienced in sex. Judy was dead set on becoming a cop and worked her tail off to do it and Nick was a focused on running his scams and living up to the fox stereotype. It's entirely possible they were each the first lover the other hand in settings like this one where they get together. So, neither being practiced in sex, they ignored or didn't know about the scent cues associated with it.

Judy i could see not going after sex at all though nick is probably a bit more experienced in life and probably has gotten laid at least once or twice. Maybe even from a scams payoff

Probably weren't expecting it could happen if the object of affection was outside their own species.

Canines are not remotely the only mammals with a sharp sense of smell.

  • Well, Nick's confusion is easy... she just smells the same to him every time, so there's no difference for him to notice.
