MemberThey do use what looks like AOL emails in the third comic, since AOL/AIM was mostly popular in the 2000's before becoming obsolete in the 2010's thanks to things like Facebook and Myspace becoming more. That would give us a time frame of 1997-2008 (or 2011 at the very latest) Same thing goes for the flip phone John is using which had a simmilar life span
