MemberI'm a furry and I'm bisexual. Does that count?

MemberDoes anyone know what the sexuality breakdown is for furries? I'm curious because from casual observation, it looks like there's a higher percentage of lgbt individuals than in the general population. Is that actually true, and if so, why is that?
GoldenVulpine
MemberIf I remember correctly it was found that 25% are gay (shockingly low, I know), 40% are bi (which is where most of the other numbers are now that I think about it), 30% are straight, and 5-ish% are pansexual, asexual, or others. I am probably totally wrong. I can't remember where I saw that...
As for why there is a lot more gay art. That I don't know. While it's true that at least 65% are in that category that would have gay art, 70% would have straight art as well thanks to bisexuality blurring those lines. I'm probably not making sense and should shut up; somebody else probably has a better answer than me ^^;
Oh yeah and it probably has a lot to do with the fact that there are more males in the fandom than females... that probably plays a big role too

MemberHere you go.
The video itself is about why furries exist. I recommend watching the whole thing as it is unbiased and very well researched. The stats were gathered from surveys across several furry conventions throughout the US, and about halfway through the video he briefly discusses sexuality breakdown in the community.

Memberwow. Those stats are pretty huge. For comparison, the national average for lgbt people in America is 3.5% based on a quick google search. I guess this is a relatively safe assumption to make about furries, not that its any excuse for generalization. Interesting that the largest group identifies as bisexual. I suppose that fits into the gender ambiguity aesthetic that is also very prevalent here.
Great video. I think it brought me closer to understanding how the heck I ended up here. Thanks for sharing.
I like that about the furry community. It's so cozy.

MemberI'm not gay because I'm a furry. I'm gay because dicks are awesome
Argylixide
Memberit's probably the mirror opposite for me. i might be furry because i'm gay
if i were more well-adjusted about the whole into-men thing, i probably wouldn't have identified with big strong animal dudes as much in those critical formative years of teenage madness
